This product did not work for my application. I have an OMC IO boat and the kill switch needs to be a closed circuit when the lanyard is clipped in. And open when you pull the lanyard. This is because the stock kill switch is wired in line with the purple ignition wire and with lanyard in place the circuit is completely and the engine has ignition power and when pulled the motor loses ignition power.Please note. This product may be 100 pct ok for your application but probably not if you have an inboard outboard boat

I have a 1975 115 Johnson it did not come with a kill switch originally had to add this one the only thing wrong with it was I did not have enough thread link to screw it on I had to make a bracket for it but other than that it works great I wired it directly to the ignition switch connect to the black and yellow striped wire terminal.

Running this on an inflatable boat and in case of going overboard at wide open throttle, boat.will shut down.This is a normally OPEN switch.Ran a wire to each ignition point screw and connected switch wires to the point wires.Worked great!

Switch works perfect and as intended. Some reviewers complain that the switch is Normally open. The switch is intended to ground out the magneto and stop it. So with the key lock in it, magneto is not grounded out and runs. Slide the key out or push the button in and it grounds, thus stopping the engine. Almost all factory emergency stop switches or set up this way.

Installed on 13ft Boston Whaler with a1975 50hp Evinrude. Took a while to figure out what wires to hook it to, but with help of You Tube, spliced to black wire and black and yellow wire inside the control box. Found out it works when I stood up in boat and forgot it was clipped to my vest. I feel much safer now. Great product.
