I have vowed never to iron clothes again! But I'm a quilter so I iron ALL THE TIME.The cord was always getting in my way when trying to store the iron in my small studio so I decided I needed a retractable cord (this was before I found the cordless, but that's another review for another day). I've had this iron since 2018, a gracious Christmas gift from my in-laws. It is a trooper. I've made over fifty patchwork quilts using this model and even re-purchased when it was accidentally packed in carry-on luggage and confiscated at the airport. It heats quickly and reliably, it has great audible alerts and even turns itself off when in danger or burning down the house (flat for longer than 10sec or unmoved for a reasonable amount of time).I'm buying one now for my daughter to use at college with no worries about fire or forgetful young adult shenanigans. As a disclaimer, I don't use the water reservoir or the steam functions as I prefer a simple spray bottle when needed. Too much leaking from previous irons for me to take any chances at mold, water damage or steam burns.

The linen setting is more like cotton (or less). I ruined an iron on transfer and an expensive sweatshirt, because it wouldn't get hot enough.

It’s been 20 years overdue! We desperately needed an iron and I wanted a heavy one! If you live on a well always use FILTERED water!!

This iron leaked right when it came out of the box. We should have sent it back. Piece of junk.

I bought it used and every part of it is working good so far... I love the knob feature for different suface temperatures... The control stays the same as the last adjusment like if you were ironing COTTON the last time then it starts that way... I like the ON/OFF feature and of course the RETRACTABLE cord... I might order another one pretty soon...(-:

So this package was a mess on my porch, beat up box and taped up and obviously a return when I opened it. I noticed the cord would not retract all the way and the one button pushes down, but takes awhile to pop back up. I wanted to just send it back, but I plugged it in to just try it once and it is a really nice iron and it can steam vertically for curtains Im glad I kept it, but please do better and tell us that it is a former return so we know what to expect.

Purchased this item again, since the previous one I had the water lid stopper break off, never had any problems, worked perfect. This is the same model with new color, but does not work like the previous one. The burst of steam button continues to stay down after very first attempt and will not allow you to use it there after. It did eventually release after several minutes but as of two days ago it is not releasing and therefore you cannot use the burst of steam feature. Very disappointed this time. I will be looking for another iron.

My last iron was cheap & sucked, so I had to replace it. Hamilton Beach is a trustworthy brand, I have an electric kettle from them that I love too. This iron has all the great features, a good area to pour water down, a place to spray water/steam, a good button to set it to the right fabric/ temperature to iron, it heats quickly, & irons well. It’s also light to carry, the cord goes in, & for $55.00ish is a great buy. I recommend it completely.
