Edit: while I was originally very happy with this product, the machine completely stopped working after about 8 months of regular use.I love this product! After moving into a 2bed 2bath apartment without central heat I was noticing that the windows had lots of condensed water on them and at the bottom of the frame. Bought this appliance and the problem went away! I keep it on our kitchen counter by the drying dishes and dishwasher as those are the main source of moisture in my apartment. The water reservoir fills up about once a week. It's good to reference though that I generally live in an environment that is not very humid.I've had mine running constantly for over 4 months. I did one time experience a strange noise from the motor after emptying the reservoir, but after turning the machine off and letting it sit a couple minutes it was back working great again!I also considered the damprid buckets, but I appreciate that this option doesn't have any chemicals that I need to worry about pets or kids getting into. Plus I don't need to worry about refilling the damprid solution.

Ordered this product about a year ago. It worked okay for the first few months, then gradually got worse. It has now stopped collecting water at all despite being in a very small and humid bathroom. The humidity gets up to easily 90% when we take a shower. It turns on and "runs" but doesn't collect water anymore. I cleaned out the little air filter, and made sure the fan was operating. It will take in air, and blow it out the top, but no water ever collects.I reached out to Seavon to see about a replacement. They told me to send a video to their "official mail address" which "could be found in the attachment they sent" in the message. I'm not sure how I can show something not working in a video that has to be less than a 10mb file, but I digress.The file attachment would not open. I asked them multiple times to just send me the email address, so I could send them the video. They kept sending the same attachment that supposedly contained their email address.After I couldn't get it to open (they sent it 3 or 4 times in a row), they suddenly couldn't find my order number.I wouldn't recommend this product, as it only worked decently for a few months, and then gradually stopped working altogether. And the customer service was a waste of time and effort.

UPDATE: Well, with my glowing review below, it just wasn't meant to be. It's dead, at least it's acting that way.. The top lights just flash when I try to turn it on. I tried every combination of the buttons, I cleaned all the connections, and NOTHING. When you go to turn it on, the top lights flash 3 times, it seems like some kind of code, but I can not find a manual online ANYWHERE. If anyone has a simple fix, please let me know. This product was working so well.. but come one 5 MONTHS and it just dies? Not Cool.Admittedly, I purchased this product for a very specific issue. I am nearly 60 and I VAPE. I know.. I know.. I also am disabled and spend most of my time in my Computer Room that is probably 15x15. Since "vape smoke" is 99% water vapor it sometimes "hangs" in the air and gets on my electronics, not to a great extent, just a noticeable "film" of water. This product has eliminated that 100%. It's really quite amazing how well this product removes water from the air. I empty it about once a week.- Sound - The item is about 3 feet from me at all times, and I barely hear it. If your not paying attention the noise fades into the background.- Effectiveness - Spec'd for 16oz a day, it does that if not a bit more.- Ease of Use - Two buttons - Press or Hold - It's as easy as it gets. It is set it and forget it (except when you have to empty it, 1 per week for me, more if you live in a heavy humid place, say like Florida.- Price - I OVER compare anything I buy, so everything that matters and the area I needed, this is a good deal.I OVER spec'd my model, I suggest you do the same. If you need it for a room 20x20 by one rated double (if you can). Good products that just work seem to be rarer and rarer. This one does exactly what it says it will do, and a bit more.UPDATE: It's been 2 months now, this little machine is working HARD and perfectly. As stated in my original post, my gaming room is basically a 10x10 room. I vape a lot which puts water vapor in the air which can damage my PC. There used to be a "cloud" in this room, all the time, since I got this dehumidifier it's just gone. It takes about a week before I need to empty it. My original suggest STILL STANDS... if you need one, buy one TWICE the size you need. I did and I am really happy I made that decision.
