SMALLRIG Quick Release Plate for Arca-Type Standard Compatible with DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro/RS 4 / RS 4 Pro/RS 5 Gimbal - 3154

This plate fits just as well as the stock ronin RS3 pro plate from DJI. It is more adjustable side to side for balancing heavier or larger rigs. It is much more secure when using it with my Canon C70, the double 1/4-20 screws for the plate line up perfectly in the dual 1/4-20 mounts on the bottom of the C70. By using both, it is way way more secure than the single from the original stock DJI plate. I’m glad DJI was out of stock and forced me to buy this one to replace my original, it’s a much higher quality upgrade, and compatibility with the RS3 pro is perfect. It does not add any noticeable bulk or weight, it actually feels much more solid without noticeable taking up any more space. I plan to buy another one to keep on my other camera as well.

This quick release is great because with 2, 1/4-20 screws it is better than a quick release with 1 screw. It keeps the camera or iPhone cage from rotating or working loose. Also the QR brings the camera up higher, so if you mount it on a tripod, the tripod locking screw has room to tighten and not hit the bottom of the camera. To attach the 2 screws you need to use a little thought to get each screw started. Look through the slots in the QR and line up both threaded holes. Start the first screw with 1 revolution and then the other screw with 1 revolution. You will feel the screws become easier to turn. Then tighten the screws. Do the same to loosen the screws.

Absolutely what I needed for how I have the DJI RS LiDar Rangefinder mounted to the RS4 Pro plate to shoot AND TRACK vertical video. The Rangefinder will NOT perform mounted vertically and I didn't want to keep moving it when using the RS4 Pro's vertical plate feature. Tested it & everything works for my tracking needs. The 1\4 20s on the plate aligned with the cage perfectly. The plate is strong and allows access to all of my ports when the camera is mounted for traditional video recording. Again, this plate fits my needs.

This is the exact fit for the base of the c70 and screws into all 3 mounting points on the base of the camera. Also works well with a bottom cheese plate - using one from Kondor Blue. MUCH more sturdy than the DJI supplied plate and keeps the camera perfectly in place without twisting and throwing off the motors over time. Highly recommended. Fits in the RS3 Pro arca swiss quick release without any issues.

This is really well made. What I don't understand is why Small Rig doesn't indicate that it works with the Canon C70. They would sell more units. The other thing is, there are 2 very small threaded holes on one end of the plate, and I can't figure out what they're for. Anyone?

Huge improvement from the DJI quick release plates!

It's a shame that DJI's Arca type quick release plate for the DJI RS 2 gimbal only has ONE mounting screw. They really should know better that gimbals need more than a single screw attachment for stable operation. But they don't, so a product like this one from Smallrig fills the void. The build quality is light, but also light weight, which doesn't add a lot of weight to the gimbal. The included screw is a nice idea, but a bit small for my fingers to manage. Inserting the plate into my DJI RS 2 gimbal is an exercise in patience, but the good news is that once in, the camera is very secure. Until DJI offers a better solution, this is worth investing in.

Really great little must have for any RS2 owners, because otherwise fine-tuning roll balance is finicky (all the weight is on the arm, and it gets very stiction-y). This plate also allows you to move the center of mass even further out than the furthest point the RS2 arm would allow, saving you the need to use counterweights, and thus removing the added stress on your motors that counterweights would create. I would also note that the plate that comes with the RS2 is not adequate for larger cameras, like a Red Epic. It's just too small. This works like a charm, giving you a much larger contact base, and two or even potentially 4 screw in contact points. Sturdy and easy to use. Also works great as an standard Arca plate. We also bought a slew of SmallRig Arca clamps (I recommend the ones with the stainless lever on the side, as it has a more complex cheeseplate at the bottom more likely to fit various mounting options, and the clamping mechanism does not protrude above or below its height, so it works fine even sandwiched between two larger objects.) With a slew of the SmallRig clamps and theses plates, we can snap on and off cameras to our RS2, our sliders, dollies, tripods, jibs... etc in a few seconds. No more wasting expensive set time fiddling with screws while actors and rented locations stand idly by. I know the whole collection it will pay for itself in one set day, max 2. All in all, I'm really glad I found out about these. (We bought, I think, 8 in all).

Extremely happy.. Managed to balance my c80 perfectly, and saves me spashing out £1000 on the new rs4 pro to accomodate the extra bulk that the camera has. .. Very well made, as with all SmallRig coming out at the moment.

Sehr präzise verarbeitet und absolut zuverlässig im Einsatz. Die Platte passt perfekt auf mein Arca-System, hält sicher und lässt sich dennoch leicht lösen. Material und Verarbeitung sind, wie von SmallRig gewohnt, auf hohem Niveau. Ideal für alle, die Wert auf Stabilität und schnelle Handhabung legen. Würde ich wieder kaufen.
