So cute and works well
It works perfectly and it’s so adorable. It’s a good size considering we don’t actually need it for light. I used 100% avocado oil for this but also ordered special lamp oil to try. No issues with the oil, no smoke or nasty smell. There was a very light scent but mostly when first lighting it up. It burns for a nice amount of time and is super easy to set up and use. I’m happy with my order and will likely get a few more in the future for myself and as gifts for family :)

Great lamp, Burns well and is excellent for Bible lessons
I love this. It will burn 3 hours on one feel of olive oil. I did have to use my own WIC however. The wick that came with it did not work very well. I just took a week from a hurricane style lantern and split it in half. Works great. It does leak over time but it seems that that's the way clay lamps work. Just put a small heat proof plate below it and it's great. Puts off a very comfortable amount of light for a medium size room. I got it because we had been studying the parable of the 10 virgins at church and I wanted something to show my family that represented the lamps that would have been used in Israel at the time.

Impressive product
I got this Biblical Clay Oil Lamp with Jar as a gift for a friend, and it was absolutely perfect. The lamp looks and feels like something straight out of biblical times, with its simple yet beautiful clay design. It’s well-made, has a nice earthy texture, and really adds a special touch to any space. What’s really cool is that it’s not just decorative—you can actually use it with oil, just like in ancient times. My friend loved the idea of lighting it during prayer or Bible study, making it even more meaningful. The little clay jar that comes with it is a great bonus and adds to the historical feel. If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift for someone who loves biblical history or meaningful Christian decor, this is a great choice. It’s unique, well-crafted, and feels like a real connection to the past. My friend was really touched by it, and I’d definitely buy it again!

Looks great!
Don't use the wick that it comes with. It does not soak up the oil and is essentially a very thin candle. Used thicker cotton yarn and worked great. Oil did spill, makes use to place it on a coaster or small plate to not stain furniture. Feels very delicate. And feels smaller than what the pictures show but overall love the lamp

Wonderful Imperfections!
It's very well made! The glazing on the outside is perfect. There is an bare spot on the bottom and a small bit inside you can take note of. These spots effect absolutely nothing. At least I've not noticed any problems. As with any lamp it's best to put it on a small dish to catch any leakage. It does not leak much and is perfectly normal. To not opt out of this product just because you're worried about leaks. It's fine! DO NOT USE STANDARD LAMP OIL LIKE KEROSENE ON CLAY LAMPS! That is unless you want it to turn into a little campfire. It's also very durable! While I was away one of my cats knocked it off a fairly high table. Abt 3-4 feet. On its way down it hit the wooden arm of a chair then smacked onto some thin carpet. I was absolutely terrified! Then to my relief there wasn't any damage to it. Or at the very least none I could notice or have noticed since. On another note, this us just my personal preference but I really like the odd imperfections that come from handmade products such as this. The slightly off handle, the bald spot on the inside, and the tiny pebble that juts out slightly on the right side that I've decided to name Henry. These little imperfections make feel feel closer to the work. It's a reminder it was made by another human being. Call it the mark of the maker if you will. It's not perfect and that's exactly what makes it perfect. My only complaint is the wick it comes with. I don't know why it's waxed. It makes it very difficult to wet and is so thin it falls in and goes out when it gets low. Which I guess one could say is a safety feature. What I did is I decided to make my own wicks out if 100% cotton thread. There are 2 ways I like to use and I'll describe them here. For 1 thread take the thread and fold it in half. Then start twisting it ALOT and if it start to twist into itself pull it apart. Do not undo your twists! Fold the twisted thread onto itself and let it twist into itself now and tie it on the end. Feel free to do another twist and fold before you tie it until you have your desired thickness. For two strings like the one in my picture take 2 threads and put them on top of each other and twist them. Unlike with 1 thread we don't fold before the first twisting. When you have it we'll twisted it let it twist into itself then you can choose to either tie it off or twist it again if you want it thicker. The ones you see in the image are thick! If you found my explanation unhelpful there are YouTube videos that you can find. I am not responsible for any wick related injuries! I feel like that needs to be said.

Beautiful!
Beautiful! I Bought for a friend and she says the wicks that came with it put off a lot of smoke so she bought different ones…she used vegetable oil and added some essential oil for a better smell and loves it!

Quality and well crafted by hand.
A great gift for someone, even yourself, like I did. I like the fact that it was hand made in the “Holy Land” what a true treasure to gift to someone who enjoys the Scriptures and wants a religious relic of that time period.

Very Cool
Great little lamp. Mostly like the originals. I liked it so much I bought another one. However, it WILL leak. The oil will get into the pores of the clay and it'll get oily on the bottom so don't leave oil in it to sit. The wick that comes with it is not super great so be prepared to have some thick cotton twine on hand. The price is great and it's easy to use, but I wouldn't leave it unattended at all or let kids fiddle with it. We used vegetable oil and then olive oil in the lamp to see how it worked. We found that vegetable oil burned better. Neither oil made the lamp smoke which surprised me, so you don't have to worry about that. It's a kind of living archeology experiment that's really fun if you're into that kind of thing.
