Hey there, fellow DIYers! Gather 'round and listen to my tale of triumph in the treacherous world of bathroom updates. Now, I may not be the handiest homeowner on the block, but let me tell you about a game-changer that saved me from a watery disaster: the Schluter Kerdi Waterproofing Membrane! Let's start from the beginning. I made the audacious decision to remodel my bathroom all by myself. Armed with a toolbox full of optimism and only a vague idea of what I was doing, I dove headfirst into the deep end. Little did I know that beneath the surface lurked the potential for a veritable flood of chaos. Enter the Schluter Kerdi Waterproofing Membrane, my savior in a roll! This little wonder transformed my bathroom into a fortress of imperviousness. From the moment I unrolled it, I knew I was in the presence of something special. It's lightweight, flexible, and remarkably easy to work with — a far cry from the unwieldy materials of yesteryear. Pros: 1. Foolproof Installation: The Schluter Kerdi membrane practically holds your hand during the installation process. Whether you're a DIY rookie like me or a seasoned pro, you can easily cut and shape it to fit any bathroom space. It adheres like nobody's business, creating a seamless barrier against water and moisture. 2. Dependable Waterproofing: When I say waterproof, I mean this stuff laughs in the face of H2O. It's like a superhero cape for your bathroom walls and floors, shielding them from leaks, cracks, and all manner of aquatic calamities. 3. Peace of Mind: Thanks to Schluter Kerdi, I can now confidently belt out my shower songs without fear of damaging the drywall or causing a plumbing nightmare. It's like having a personal bodyguard for my bathroom, silently protecting it from the perils of moisture. Cons: 1. Pricey: Unfortunately, all that superhero-grade protection comes at a cost. The Schluter Kerdi Waterproofing Membrane doesn't exactly come cheap. However, if you value peace of mind and a bathroom that will withstand the test of time, it's a worthy investment. 2. Learning Curve: While user-friendly overall, working with the membrane does require a bit of a learning curve. Take the time to read the instructions and watch a tutorial or two. Trust me, it'll save you from unnecessary hiccups along the way. In conclusion, my experience with the Schluter Kerdi Waterproofing Membrane was nothing short of transformative. It comedy-proofed my DIY bathroom remodel, turning it from a potential nightmare into a hilarious success story. So, fellow DIYers, take my word for it — if you're looking to update your bath, embrace the Schluter Kerdi membrane and enjoy a life free from water-related worries! Disclaimer: No toilets were harmed during the making of this review.

This was my first time trying the Schulter membrane. I have done a lot of DIY and I wanted to try this because it seems a lot better than traditional ways. The install was pretty easy and I followed instructions on their website and also there are many videos on YouTube about this. Very pleased with how it looks and the durability of the membrane. I still have to complete my curb and the corners and edges but I think this will be great.
