I am a fine jewelry designer and this is my go to box for custom engagement pieces that need to ship. I love it because it's well constructed, the solid black doesn't distract from the jewelry and looks classic, and the velvet has a nice plush that doesn't shed. All the boxes I've recieved have had a good tight hinge. The reason I like these for shipping a ring is because the ring sits securely in a velvet slash (very nicely done- an overlap rather than a foam cutout like so many others) so I know the ring will reach its destination safely and in the exact position in the box I left it. It's also a great box for a proposal- not too big and the ring is clearly visible sitting up in the slash when it is presented. On a pillow it can slide. For the wedding you may choose something fancier but honestly I think this box would do just fine for that as well! I hope they never stop selling it, I can't find one as good anywhere else!

Great velvet ring box. I buy these to resell larger cocktail rings. Pretty display and has a protective box for customer, also helpful for shipping.

ring box looks great, well built for price, opens and closes easily and smooth.only downside is the ring box would not stay upright with the ring inside and top opened. I ended up putting some pennies for extra weight underneath the ring holder portion and it worked like a champ.would recommend and would purchase again.

I purchased to use when passing down a family heirloom ring to my daughter on her wedding day. I needed a ring box and this one worked out perfectly. The ring fit in the box nice and snug and looked beautiful. I'm sure there are more elaborate boxes out there, but I just needed a simple velvet box and this one was the right price and looked pretty.

I just received this box in the mail. I was hesitant to order it considering I would be the first to review, but I am very impressed. The box is covered with a nice black felt material, with no blemishes. The white lining on the inside is some type of cloth material. As for what the box is actually made of, it's metal. That is the best feature, in my opinion. I don't know what these are typically made of, but this is durable and not cheap. The hinge on the back is also metallic. I don't expect this to fall apart any time soon, so for that I am giving it 5 stars.

Took awhile to receive. Black velvet ring holder great. Seller had 2 bar code stickers plastered on it and scotch tape sealer it close. Now I have to find a white box to put the black holder in. Kinda ruined it for me.
