VTech Upgraded Audio Baby Monitor with Rechargeable Battery, Long Range, and Crystal-Clear Sound

My daughter lives with me and she spends a lot of time in our basement. She is a crafter and does her project there. I have a police scanner, and it is upstairs. She wanted to hear it in the basement, so we bought the baby monitor, and it works great. The sound is clear, it was easy to set up, and it was a lot cheaper than buying her a scanner.

For the price, you cannot go wrong with this monitor. We bought it to place in the bathroom while our aging mom is showering. If she needs us, we can hear her calling us. The mic is very sensitive. This is a good thing. We can even hear her breathing (and humming sometimes). We can hear when the water is shut off, so we know when she's done and about to come out. The quality of the cases is very good. We've dropped them several times and no issues. We are not so impressed with battery life. We have it on for maybe 30 minutes at a time and we have to charge the receiver after several uses. It's not a deal breaker, but we just have to make sure we charge it frequently. Perhaps another issue related to the battery - there is a light that glows red when charging. However, even after 12 hours of charging the light is still red. I would think it should turn green like nearly all other items you need to charge. Nope, this charging light NEVER glows green! So, how do we know when the receiver is completely charged? We don't!

At night or during longer stretches, we just plug it in by the bedside and it's ready again in the morning. The monitor's impressive range is another huge plus. We haven't tested the extreme limits, but it easily reaches anywhere inside our house, into the yard, and even out to the mailbox or garage without losing the connection. Setup was incredibly easy: we just plugged the nursery unit in, turned on both units, and they instantly connected. We also appreciate the visual sound indicator lights on the parent unit. Sometimes, if we're watching TV or busy with tasks, we keep the monitor volume on low. The lights visually alert us to any sounds coming from our granddaughter’s room, ensuring we never miss a moment when she needs attention. After several months of use, it has consistently delivered. This VTech audio monitor is absolutely perfect, and it has become one of our essential pieces of travel gear. For the price, which is very accessible compared to others, the quality and reliability you get are absolutely valuable. We have always traveled with it, and it has never let us down. The best feature is the wireless parent monitor, which is designed for true portability. The unit itself is the perfect size to fit in your hand or back pocket, and it has a handy belt clip to attach to your pants, so you can be completely hands-free. This makes it perfect to move around with. Whether we're at a vacation rental or just at home, I can be on the patio or in another room and still keep a close 'eye' (or ear, rather) on our little one. The sound is clear, and you have full control over the volume. A genius feature is the visual light monitor; even if it's noisy where I am, the lights on the unit indicate the level of sound in the baby's room. The only perk to be aware of is that the battery on the parent unit only lasts for a couple of hours, so you need to remember to connect it to charge after every use. For us, that's a small trade-off for the freedom it provides. It's fantastic for travel because it's so simple—no Wi-Fi or complicated setup needed. For the peace of mind it provides, it's a 5-star product all the way.

The audio works well and is sensitive, picks up sounds well. However, every time the parent unit reconnects to the base unit (which is every time the base unit is unplugged) a voice loudly announces a safety message. Not good for sleeping babies if you and the parent unit part are still in the baby's room when you turn it on. Also, the battery life on the parent unit is very poor.

We don't have a "baby-baby" but a 4 yr old granddaughter who sleeps in and is upstairs. We needed something on the cheap side that allowed me to hear her when she screams out "GAMMMMMM"!! This works great! It's not a 2-way, but is long range. I bring it outside gardening in the morning while she sleeps. Then I make her garden with me. Great purchase!

El peofucto esta bien, tiene buen alcanze, lo probamos mi esposa y yo, fui con mi vecido de enfrente y seguia escuchando a mi esposa hablar, los led de colores a corde el nivel de ruido estan bien y se escucha claro y fuerte...... PERO! La bateria que viene con el receptor es MALISIMA, casi no dura, asi que si piensas que vas a tener mucha autonomia, lamento decirte que no es asi, lo bueno es que en mi casa hay enchufes en todos lados por lo que siempre hay donde conectarlo y se escucha muy fuerte.... Pero porque le doy aun asi las 5 estrellas?, Porque las baterias son caras por lo que no se puede pedir mayor calidad en baterias sin aumterar el precio, y porque lo demas compensa muy bien .

Worked for 3 days and stopped working !! I dont understand why its not working I have tried to contact the service email also tried to contact the company .. no response … I have used it for 2 nights in a row.. Not user friendly also the sound was very low .. I kept it charging for 3 nights still didn’t work .. I dont recommend it its waste of money ..

This is one of the worst products ever. I tried connecting it only today as I was not at home and as soon as I plugged it in, there was a short burst and smoke started coming out of the adapter. And since I am a day late, I'm unable to return it.

I definitely find this product great value for the price. I can clearly and easily hear if my child is crying or just fussing. Sound is very clear. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that other very expensive brands do but this does a great job if you just want to know if your baby is crying or not. Highly recommend.

After we got this monitor, we have gained our freedom to work in our terrace office, when our kids sleep at night. It has a good range and is very reliable. It it very easy to use too. But For battery use, it doesnt last long. The only thing is make sure you turn it off when not in use, otherwise people can hear unwanted conversations. 😅
