EGO Power+HT2400 24-Inch 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Hedge Trimmer - Battery and Charger Not Included Green

Very powerful, but the posted ability of cutting up to an inch thick branch may be a bit optimistic. 1 cm is more realistic. Battery lasted for all the work I needed to do. Not as heavy or cumbersome as some earlier reviews might lead you to think. I found it much easier to manage than the two electric cord trimmers I have.

Bought this without battery or charger based on my experience with the EGo string trimmer, which is also excellent. I used the 56 Volt 4 mA battery and charger purchased with the string trimmer. This tool cuts aggressively, is relatively easy for me to use in both horizontal and vertical cuts, and had tremendous battery life. I trimmed a short hedge in front of the house, around the mailbox, and along some 350 feet of road frontage using only about 1/3 of a battery charge. It cut regular grass, reedy tall grass (weeds), wild rose, woody honeysuckle (not just first year green growth) and small sassafras trees with no trouble. I was a bit surprised there is no ‘safety’ switch. If you squeeze both handles it starts cutting, so be careful how you pick it up. Only other negative is the weight with the big battery is more than my wife wants to deal with and even I found it a little heavy trying to cut overhead. I’ll take that tradeoff for the power and ability to finish a task on one charge. Definitely satisfied and can recommend. This and the string trimmer are both big steps up from the Black and Deckers I used previously.

Man oh man do I love the EGO power tools...just got this for my birthday and that gives me an Hedge Trimmer, String Trimmer, Lawn Mower, and Blower...they are all great and if you get three batteries (the lawn mower battery is pretty good size 4.0amp... so that plus two of the 2.5 amps are great for me to swap out and get all the grass mowed, edged, and blown). Ego products are quality built, they have a great web site with all the info you need on the device and even a great registration page - I have nothing to give but praise for EGO for their tools - all well thought out with many "features" you'll appreciate when using them. MUCH MUCH better than the B&D brand, which is cheaper, but clearly - cheaper. AND I LOVE B&D for their drivers and drills, just not garden tools (and I've had their mowers and weed eaters for years). Oh yes, power - these tools are every bit as powerful as GAS models and while I'm sure we have some HANK HILL types that will disagree and love GAS...these tools will do anything as good if not better, weigh less, and are exceedingly quiet in the process. Lithium Cordless tools have finally made cordless worth while - kudos.

This hedge trimmer works well. I'm pleased with it (especially the fast "off" when either of the triggers is released) & the weed wacker & blower that I own by Ego. I'm in my 70s & for me, this trimmer is quite heavy. The advertised weight is 6.2 lbs. My Toledo scale (commercial use) says that it weighs 6.6 lbs. without the battery or blade cover. My battery is the Ego 56V 2.0Ah, which I believe is Ego's lightest weight battery. With the battery, the trimmer weighs 9.4 lbs, & that's too heavy for me to last more than a few minutes trimming even shoulder high bushes. Of course, the weight factor is relative to your age, size, strength, & health.

I cut my cord with my old trimmer and it scared me. Tired of pre-mix 2 stroke motors with the smell, noise, and different mix ratios. So I Bought this with some trepidation. All I can say after using this twice is wow, it is really amazing. Have used it for an hour at a time and my body wore out before the battery. It cuts really well and has low noise. Did not even use my ear muffs. I got rid of a large amount of blackberry bushes that were over 10 feet tall. Used to take me several days with my wheeled string trimmer. This took me 2 hours. Was going to buy the Black and Decker, for about half this amount, but got scared when i read about the build quality. I just ordered the Ego chainsaw and leaf blower, without the battery packs, since since this battery pack is interchangeable. The battery also charges very quickly. Unfortunately, my body does not recharge as fast. This is one of the few products that I have gotten really excited about. The battery technology has reached a point where they can compete with the other sources of power and offer a lot of convenience. If you are on the edge about purchasing this product, don't be, it is that good.

I used this to trim my hedge!?! It was great. Years ago I bought an electric one to do the job. I am one who reads the instructions before doing! I chuckled when one of the instructions was "Never cut the cord" or something like that. I thought "Duh. Why would you do that?" The first time I used it, I cut the cord! And several more times in the intervening years! I have an EGO chain saw and EGO string trimmers that I love! So when I was getting ready to trim my hedge this spring I decided to try cordless. I do not regret that decision! No more cut cords for me!

I was so excited to add this trimmer to our full Ego collection: mower, snow blower, trimmer, edger, shovel. My husband and I LOVE Ego products. The batteries charge quickly and hold a charge long enough to trim plenty of trees. We have a number of batteries so always have a couple on the charger while another is in use. Huge fan of this brand! Also, no possible way to cut off a finger. The safety features are impeccable.

Great product my husband says it’s like commercial grade! It big and our battery we can use with this trimmer,that’s why I bought it! It has a sleeve to protect the blades! It is heavy and the blades are long. It does a great job!

Very happy with this purchase. Far more powerful than my old Ryobi trimmer. Makes light work of hedges with 1-1.5 cm branches and the longer blade is very helpful.

I like the fact that it’s environmentally friendly and quiet I did notice that when you squeeze the trigger there’s a bit of a hesitation other than that it works very well

Lightweight - even my wife can use it with ease.

Just recieved this EGO Hedge trimmer today and used it right away.It exceeded my expectations.Trimmed my side of a twenty foot long by six foot tall cedar hedge,cutting about four inches off the side.Worked awsome and I am very pleased,so is the wife.Thanks Amazon and EGO
