Review: Commercial feel without the commercial price - Closer to commercial feel than I could've hoped for, this is an awesome treadmill. Extremely solid, great controls, no subscription, I'm definitely happy with it. Being a larger user at 6'3" 260lbs, I can finally run with confidence without worrying about a motor stuttering out of nowhere, this thing doesn't skip a beat. I've had a few major knee surgeries way back in my 20s and I felt like I was playing Russian roulette with my knees running on the cheaper ones, not knowing if a motor or belt slip is going to land me in the hospital. I don't have to worry about that with this one! Granted I'm not running marathons on this, typically I'm putting around 2 miles on it 4 times a week after I lift at speeds between 6-8mph, but my impression is that this is light work for this treadmill. I've always been hesitant to buy a more expensive treadmill since these things seem to not last very long but after years of constantly buying $300-$400 treadmills just to have them degrade or break within a year I figured I'd give this one a try based on reviews and research. Not disappointed at all. Pros: -Soild and heavy. No wobbling or cheap feel, I know where my money went with this and it justifies the price 100%. -Large running deck. I'm so used to small cheaper treadmills I find myself crowding the controls before realizing I have a ton of real estate behind me that I forget about. -Great motor and smooth belt. Throttles up and down like a champ, no belt slipping or motor stuttering, just solid performance. -Simple controls. Very easy to use with a lot of functionality. No subscription to worry about so that's a massive plus. I love the incline and speed wheels that are on the handles, such a neat feature as well as the interval buttons for quick speed selection. -Quality speakers. Even though I don't use them, they sound great when tested. Cons: -Assembly was not the most enjoyable but nothing terrible, did myself in about an hour. -Fan is useless. -Session times out within minutes if you pause the run. I like to do 4 minutes of running after each I'm done with each super set but when I pause it to go back to my lifts it typically times out and resets the session before I can get back on it after the next set. Not really a problem, just minor annoyance, just wish they had a way to adjust the amount of time you can pause it before it ends your session. Extremely happy with the purchase! Pros hands down outweigh they minor cons.
Review: Best of the best - In love!! This thing is heavy. It was delivered behind my vehicles before work (we have snow), the guy couldn’t get it any closer to the house. My husband and I took piece by piece out of the box to get it inside. It took maybe 30-45min to get in working order. I really wish I would have thought about placement because if I use the incline, my head will smack a beam on the ceiling in our basement so it does need moved. I feel like the belt slides to the left no matter what I do but only noticeable if I’m staring at it while walking. Easy to use, not sure about the buttons. I haven’t read the instructions on how to switch the program but I also haven’t been too concerned about doing so. It’s huge and I love it. I’m 5’9 and it is perfect for my stride length. I can run and walk comfortably—maybe even gallop if I was feeling wild haha. I am 227lb and it doesn’t seem to mind. I don’t have to worry about it breaking or trying to take me out while using it. It was on the price tag side of life but I wanted the best of the best—I think I found it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it work with apple fitness app thats going to be released by apple later this year?**
A: As of right now, we don't have direct integration with the Apple Fitness+ program

**Q: whats the user max weight?**
A: My daughter is 110 lbs and the deck started overheating and squeaking after 10 miles. It’s poorly made and Horizon customer service is a joke. Don’t waste your money

**Q: Is the motor 3 hp or 3.5 hp? what about running deck, is it 20x60 or 22x60? headline says 3.5 hp and 22x60 but product description says 3 hp and 20x60**
A: Thanks for pointing that out, we'll take a look, apologies!
For the 7.4 treadmill the deck is 22x60" the motor is the 3.5HP RapidSync system.

**Q: Can you edit the custom programs and set them to auto-adjust the speed and incline when you are running on the treadmill? Thanks**
A: Hello! Thanks for asking. For this type of routine, we'd recommend using the custom interval buttons or custom programming. This allows you to create and reuse your perfect workout with a combination of a specific speed, incline and time or distance. The ultimate in personal programming. This is a time or distance based goal program. You can find out more about the built in workout programs by reviewing the owner's manual found at the bottom of this page: https://support.horizonfitness.com/hc/en-us/articles/360059272891-7-4-AT-02-Treadmill-Operating-Instructions

### ⭐ Rust Out of the Box and No Response from Support
*by K***R on March 18, 2026*

Let me start with this. I write very few reviews on Amazon. If you look at my past reviews, I don’t think I’ve written any. Almost all of my Amazon orders have arrived as expected, and if I’ve ever had an issue, I’ve contacted the company or Amazon and it’s usually been resolved in a timely manner. This is the first product I’ve ever had a negative experience with. First, my family runs a lot. So I started searching for a decent at-home treadmill that would be close to an industrial standard, but not cost $6,000. I found a couple options and ended up picking Horizon because I liked the dial controls and the simplicity of the screen/monitor setup. I don’t use any fancy programs, I just wanted something I could run on, do intervals, and have a simple display. Full disclosure, the treadmill does do those things. It met all my expectations in that regard. My issue started when it was delivered. While putting it together, I found that the frame had rust all over it. I still assembled it to test it and decide whether I wanted a full refund or a replacement. I assume it sat in storage for some time, because the rust was significant and the deck was extremely dry. Even after using the full bottle of included lubricant, I couldn’t get it lubricated enough to function properly. It would not go over 3 mph, and the belt would heat up and eventually stop after about 5 minutes. Realizing this was clearly defective, I emailed the company asking for next steps. After receiving an automated “we got your message” email, I waited a couple of days with no response. I then called the company and was told it can take several weeks to respond to emails and process returns. At that point, I was very frustrated and started reading Amazon reviews to see what others experienced. I found that many people had similar complaints, but were able to get help through Amazon. So I went that route. There’s a lot I could say about that process. Amazon made several mistakes and even gave me incorrect information at times, but in the end, they made it right and provided credits to my account, so I won’t go into all the details. I decided to try a replacement to give Horizon another chance, thinking maybe I just got a bad unit. Amazon did get me a replacement in a reasonable timeframe. Unfortunately, when I unboxed the second one, it also had some rust, although it was much better than the first. I was able to assemble it, properly lubricate it, and actually use it. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it seems decent, so I decided to keep it and accept a partial refund (through Amazon). WITH THAT SAID, when I received the replacement, I noticed some major differences. In several areas, it was clear they had swapped out metal components for lower-quality materials. For example, the feet on the first (heavily rusted) unit were steel and encased in hard rubber. The replacement had brass feet with a cheap pad on the bottom that tore off when moving the deck. That’s just one of several differences I noticed. My overall impression is that Horizon originally made a good treadmill that received strong reviews, then started cutting corners to reduce costs while continuing to benefit from those earlier positive reviews. The core components, the deck, belt, and motor, seem to still be solid, but many of the smaller parts feel cheaper and lower quality. If I could go back, I would have purchased a competing treadmill instead of this one. It seems like they’ve lost their way, at least with this model. Oh, and for what it’s worth, the entire process, from receiving the first unit to finally having a functional one, took over a month. I’m also still waiting on a response to that original email from the company. Their support is essentially nonexistent, and they don’t seem to care about their customers.
