Great lock, even better customer service
Great lock. Unfortunately, after like five months of use, it stopped working for me. However, I reached out to Schlage customer service and they were amazing. They helped me trouble shoot it, and when that didn't work, they sent me a new one and checked in to make sure it was working fine. I haven't had any issues with the new one even after a year, so it was probably some sort of fault with the original one I bought. The lock itself is durable and easy to use, good quality, and looks great on my door. The exemplary customer service is just another reason to recommend this product!

Great reliable lock with long battery life
In the past, I have used Kwikset keypad locks, but I have been won over to the Schlage locks. I like Kwikset's SmarkKey feature, but that's where the love stops. Kwikset uses a motor to engage the bolt. It takes a lot of power from the batteries. Also, sometimes it gets hung up. If you are only pushing a button, you might not notice that the lock failed to push the bolt properly. By contrast, to lock or unlock the Schalge, you manually turn a knob that is engaged by the code. (It spins freely until the code is entered to unlock or until the lock button is pressed to lock.) This means that the real work is done by your hand, not a motor, so the batteries should last longer. It also means that the door is reliably locked every time. It requires barely any extra effort. The main drawback with this scheme is that it wouldn't work with a remote wifi lock. If you want a remote lock, then this is not it.

Great quality and convenient.
I bought this to replace the keyed deadbolt on my new house. Installed in like 15 minutes and wow is it nice to not need a key to lock my door from the outside. Great Schlage quality. Would recommend 100%.

DO NOT PURCHASE!! read reviews
I had this same lock before. Had ot about 6-7yrs and it was great! I live in Minnesota and it withstood the codest conditions hence the reason i bought it. When we remodeled we decided to replace our still perfectly functioning gold deadbolt with the same one but in matte black. From the moment it arrived i knew something was different. Our original one came in a nice high quality box with displaying the lock on the box. This one came in a very thin cheap plain cardboard box. Upon opening i instantly noticed a very big weight difference between our old locl and the new one. Old lock seemed very heavy duty and durable, new one seemed very cheap. But we went ahead and installed it. After we installed it, checked to see it functioned properly and i noticed it would accept code but only the turn knob would only lock maybe 1 out for 4-5 tries. Same thing when unlocking. Would accept the code but wouldn't unlock, the turn would just spin but not unlock the bolt. Thought maybe just needed to be used a few times. Next day same thing, then my daughter was locked out of the house that afternoon in the cold for almost 20 min and i had to leave work to go open the back door to let her in. Absolutely trash. I hould jave read the reviews and realize schlage has become a very poor. Sketchy company simce my original lock was purchased. I also called customer support, first call was on hold for 1½hrs, 2nd call on hold for 45min. Never was able to talk to anyone. So much for their great warranty. I will never buy a schlage again.

Watch Schlage videos & read instructions
I wanted a basic sturdy keypad lock. The BE365 is hefty and has the highest ANSI rating. I read the instructions, familiarized myself with the package contents and watched several videos before starting installation. Basically it was installed in 30 minutes, granted, all measurements I had were exactly compatible. A couple of IMPORTANT things, the 51/2" measurement between latches is important IF you have an ornate bottom latch plate. I do and the keypad JUST clears. Don't worry if the keypad doesn't fit flush to the door surface when starting the install. the back of the keypad has a couple of raised bosses that dig into the edge of the lock bore when you tighten the baseplate to the keypad. I guess this is to deter strongarm attempts to break in. The included strike and reinforcement plates look nothing like any shown in videos or the instructions. My current strike plate is plenty strong. Programing was straightforward and easy. I had to change 1 of the user codes as it appears on the tag of a car in my drive, what's the odds of that? Deleting the code was also easy. Nothing in the instructions mention how to set vacation/privacy mode, but Google is your friend. There is also no mention of how to use the key to open the lock, the key must be pushed IN hard while twisting to unlock (Google again). I'm writing this review after only 1 day of install. I hope my high marks hold true over time.

Reliable and durable
I've used this lock on an outdoor entry gate with no issues for years. Materials are sturdy and long-lasting. I tried another brand of a competing price and found it to be of lesser quality and security.

Love these locks.
I love these locks because you don’t have to have Wi-Fi. They’re easy to program and they don’t take a ton of batteries I’ve had. Multiple styles and colors and I just keep coming back to this design. The keypad is simple. The lock is simple. It’s great quality. You don’t have to worry about somebody hacking into your Wi-Fi. It uses a deadbolt so your house is secure and it’s easy to reprogram it as you need to. The only downside is that the center part does have to be greased if you live in a humid environment I’ve had excellent customer service with the manufacturer when the things have gone wrong. They are perfect for our rentals.

Great lock! Great customer service!
I've used this particular Schlage lock for years. I think this is the 4th or 5th one I've purchase in the last 15 years (for different houses). I buy this lock repeatedly because Schlage stands behind them. Several years ago, I had a problem with the lock and called Schlage and explained the issue and they sent me a replacement. No questions. No try this, and this, and this. No long hours waiting on the phone. Just good customer service. Easy to install. No downloading apps or trying to connect to wifi. Because you turn the lock yourself, instead of having the battery turn the lock, a battery lasts for years. Just a good solid lock with metal components at a price that really hasn't changed much in 15 years.

Works amazingly.. happy to have this style where you turn the locking mechanism yourself.. batteries last way longer and the thing doesn’t have any issues even when it’s -40. ( it’s been installed for a year now)

I do have to say that the learning curve for this lock was a bit higher than what I would like, but once you get the hang of locking and unlocking your door with the keypad, it becomes second nature. Using a physical key itself can be a struggle though. Because the place where you insert the key rotates, sometimes I get confused on how to use it. Not to mention that sometimes taking the key out of the lock is a pain to do so. When using the keypad, it’s great! When using a physical key, not too much.
