Its a very nice basic set for the price. At this price the board is cardboard and the check pieces are plastic. The crease from the board at the center makes it harder to slide the pieces across that line sometimes, which might sound like an odd thing to compain about but I am playing this with my grandpa so just pointing it out because his fingers don't work as good as they used to. I also think its a bit hard for him to see the red and black pieces on a red and black board. Nothing that should trouble the average person perfectly good for kids and grandpa and I are still using it but I may get one with larger pieces and a non-folding board at some point.

The game board was warped upon arrival. It didn't make playing checkers impossible, but it was annoying. The pieces were fine, average quality. For the price, I don't expect wood, but I do expect the product to lay flat on a table. Other board games at this price point, like Candy Land or Chutes, have thicker, sturdier game boards. So my expectation is not unrealistic I'd say.

The "board" is like a piece of glossy paper. It's so flimsy that you are afraid to unfold it because it might rip into two pieces. The plastic pieces are also very low quality, but the board is terrible that I barely even looked at those. On top of all this, the whole thing was filthy. Everything was covered in some kind of dark brown dust.It's hard to believe that anyone could get away with selling a product that is so poorly made. The only explanation is that it costs so little to make that the company comes out ahead even if 50% of buyers are returning it. People must just be too lazy to bother with the return.I'm also surprise at how many negative reviews still have the product rated at 3 or 4 stars. Maybe this is a new way to game the rating system.

This has to be the worst purchase that I have ever made on amazon! Well, you get what you pay for, well I paid 5.88 for this and that was 5 bucks too much. The game board is thinner than an envelope and was warped and peeling when my kid opened it. I wouldve been embarrassed if I had given this as a present to anyone else other than my 5 yr old. I wish I could give this negative stars, amazon should quite carrying kangaroo products, because this is an embarrassment. You would have a better checkerboard if you drew one on the back of a cereal box.

This is a very cheap version of the game so I expected the quality to be low.... and it is. But with that said I still have had fun playing the game with my kids. The board is very weak and warped and the pieces do not lock onto each other very well when stacked as a king. But for a first-time training version of the game for my kids, it will be just fine for now. Consider taking a look at thrift stores to see if they have stacks of used checkers for cheaper and probably better quality too.

Box was squashed, the board will break in 1/2 after a few uses. Need to tape together. I've literally played with this 2xs. The checkers do not stack and stay, no mater how you try. If you want less then yard sale quality. Then this is for you. I guess the old saying goes, you pay for what you get.

This checker board is great! Nothing beats a game of checkers with the family on game night! I have played with my son every night since we received it and noticed in some places the coloring on the board is scratched from sliding the checker pieces across when playing. The overall quality of the board is good. Not as thick of a board game as I expected, it does feel thin and it may bend very easily, but still a great classic for a good price. The checker board also comes with instructions. I did notice the board did not come with any extra game pieces. The game includes 12 markers of each color.

It might be possible to make a more cheap checkers board and set. But I doubt it.The board is thin as contract paper and warped when you unfold it. The checkers pieces are so cheaply molded that you can barely king yourself without the pieces even sticking.Cheapest waste of money. Spend an extra $10 on something that isn’t the cheapest piece of junk money can buy. Lesson learned.
