DynamiteFinally!! I've been asking etymotic to make big dual flange for what seems like decades. I need these. Big-earhole musicians you do too.Excellent Comfort, isolation and long lasting. I've tried many other brands. My advice : don't bother.buy etymotic.

Maybe I expected too much when I ordered these, but they were not for me. But your experience may be different, they may be perfect for you.

Your best bet is to treat these as proprietary tips. Hard to fit on other brands. The XL fit like the L of other brands. Returned for refund.

These X-Large plugs are like what I would consider as the regular size for the triple flange plugs that come with an original purchase. They fit well. They're comfortable. They actually appear to block noise close to, if not as well as the original triple flange plugs that I got with a purchase about 20 years ago, and more recently with the ER2XR (purchased within the last 2 years). I don't expect them to hold up to use over time though as these appear to be like the new triple flange replacements in terms of the material thickness. They are thinner and see through. We'll see how it goes with my daily use. If you're accustomed to the triple flange, these will work well as a replacement for what is now being sold as "regular" size triple flanges, when in reality those are some what smaller resulting in a failure to isolate noise. Until etymotic produces an x-large triple flange replacement I think I will settle for these. But thankfully they DO isolate noise, which has always been a critical feature with their products.

I don't know what happened to Etymotic Research. Their noise-isolation technique was a great alternative to much more expensive noise-cancelation technology, but the company stopped making extra large memory foam ear tips, so I had no choice but to buy these. I cannot describe to you how painful they are. Etymotic Research, please start selling the yellow, extra-large memory foam ear tips again.
