I think maybe my Swopper has saved my life. As a serial sitter at work, I was logging an easy 8-12 hours a day on my butt. My weight was suffering, my energy levels were suffering, and my back was beginning to twinge on me. I had tried the standing desk but unfortunately it just wouldn't work with my job requirements. I had tried the ball chair which was great in many ways but I have to swivel constantly and the ball chair just won't swivel the way it needs to. I tried a plastic wobble stool but talk about FIRM. Way too uncomfortable to use even with a chair for very long. So I finally coughed up the big money and got the Swopper I'd been wanting.This seat has literally changed my life. In the past month that I've had it, my energy levels have skyrocketed. I feel good all over. I move constantly and lots of the newest research about moving and sitting disease states that it is the static nature of sitting or standing in one place that's the biggest enemy. We need to be constantly in motion, either walking and doing various tasks, or at least changing position. With the Swopper I am bouncing, swiveling, shifting side to side and front to back. The hip rotation you can do on this thing is fantastic. Talk about stretching out your hips and back! Plus the ability to change the height increases your amount of bounce and offers variety in how open your hips are when seated. I have mine set on maximum wobble and maximum bounce and am typing this while bouncing and wobbling. I never stop moving. THIS IS HUGE!In the past month, I have also started really zeroing in on my diet (again) but there's something different about it. I've tried to eat better before, but had less than stellar commitment. But since I started Swopping, I just feel more energized all the time. Days that I can't Swop because I am in another office with conventional chairs, my fasting blood sugar the next morning is always 10-15 points higher even with no change in my diet. I really do credit the constant motion of the Swopper with that improvement in glucose metabolism and in fact my overall improved metabolism.I feel GREAT! I have energy all day and even after work. I've been cleaning house, eating better, enjoying life, and seeing my glucose improve and my weight improve. It all started when I made the commitment to Swop. Maybe it's not full-on cause/effect. Maybe it's all cumulative and if I removed Swopping I might still see the results of a better diet. But I am not going to stop Swopping. I really feel like it's the piece of the puzzle I've been missing all this time. An hour of exercise cannot undo the damage of just four hours of static sitting, not to mention the typical eight hours. But Swopping all day might be the key to making the exercise after work even more productive.Now, the cons. Yes, the seat is a bit firm, but I have solved that with a couple of different seat cushions and recommend the Wondergel seat cushion. It's thin enough to not interfere with getting on and off the stool but it makes it much more comfy. A thicker memory foam donut cushion is the super bomb, but I have to lower the seat to get on and off!Also, do not expect to sit on it all day up front. My back, stomach, and thighs took a while to build up to it. The first few days I was just plain physically tired from the movement and had to rest. But now, all those muscles are stronger and more flexible and I don't ever use my normal chair.Finally, the price. I had this item in my Amazon shopping cart for two years because of the price. No lie. Two full years. In that time I bought a standup workstation desk topper for @$250, a ball chair for $90, and a wobble stool for something like $115. I should have just gotten the Swopper and a Wondergel pad. A normal high end desk chair can easily run over $300-400 and having sat in them this weekend for funsies at the office supply store, I have to say I'd rather have my Swopper by about a thousand times. Those seats don't bounce. They don't wobble side to side. Even the front-back motion is only back and won't go forward like my Swopper can. Reaching for items on the Swopper is like being on the end of a springy pogo stick. You lean up and the seat comes with you. There's nothing like it. And this seat is BUILT TO LAST. Not heavy, but solidly built.To sum up: If you want to stop your static sitting once and for all, buy a Swopper (with a cushion if your butt is tender like mine) and Swop the heck out of it!

We bought it to try it for energy at the office, and for homework attention problems. My 17 yr old loves it. I do believe it keeps him focused longer. Although he bounces and spins a lot, it seems to help him stay positive about sticking to the work. The rest of us love it as well, and would like to have one for everyone. I sat on it a few days at my office and it was an energy boost. It does seem to make your back a bit tired after several hours if you are already tired and tend to slump. This probably would go away after a few weeks, depending on your fitness level. I am a small person who tends to sit on the edge of my office chair anyway. The comfortable padded seat is what made me choose this particular one, because I sit at my computer many hours each day. If the cost were about half of this retail, I would have them throughout our tech office. Our entire technical staff work amazingly hard at staying fit and they would love them. Love the blue fabric and spring with the charcoal grey. Very high tech looking. Feels very well made.

I've used one of these 6 years ago at a former job and fell in love. It took a bit to get used to having no backrest, but once you know how to sit in it all backpain from slouching was GONE.I had a hard time finding something like it (I didn't know what it was called, or who made it at the time), and settled on a high-end Kneeling stool (from Ergo Depot). I had that for about 3 years and it also significantly helped my back and posture (to the point that I can't sit in chairs too long without discomfort). The kneeling stool wore out and through shear luck, I found this on Amazon and recognized it as the stool I used before. I'm 6ft,230lbs and it supports my weight just fine. It also adjusts high enough to keep my long legs at the right sitting angle.Yes, the price is incredible...BUT IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. If you are wondering if it will help your back, IT WILL. Are there stools out there like it that are cheaper? Sure, but none of them are as well made or silent as this one, no squeaking, no rattling. It's SOLID even while you bounce around on it.

As everyone said, the price is a little frightening, but I love it. Keeps me moving, comfortable and my back feels great after that short break in period (where I was just using other muscles).

More and more data has come out showing how terrible it is for your health to sit all day. This helps mitigate some of that problem. It is easy to get used to and is a comfortable place to sit if your job involves a lot of sitting.

Price is insane but I do really like it :)I've got some back issues and it seems to help but too early to say (1 week).It's minimum height is 1-2" taller than I would like for my desk setup...I'm still happy with it :)

This product is worth it's weight in gold. Don't let the high price fool you; it's worth every single penny. I can stress enough how incredible this stool is in regards to how well it works. Sitting in any chair for more than a couple hours makes my back ache; not the case with the Swopper Stool. At first I was hesitant on spending so much on a stool; however, I couldn't be happier knowing I can sit for hours and be pain free.Don't waste your money on another stool or chair if you have back problems; buy a Swopper and enjoy the health benefits that come along with itI wish they made one with in Black Leather to match the rest of my furniture. To say I love this product is an understatement. Best product I have ever purchased on Amazon.....period.
