Almost cat proof
A great way to keep my yarn organized during projects and safe from my cats! The base is very sturdy and the different feed options for yarn is very helpful as I can have multiple kinds ready to go while switching easily.

Not unbreakable as advertised
The handle part was broken when it arrived. Trying to see if it can be glued back to be used. It's smaller than I thought it would be but still usable. Don't know if I would purchase it again yet or not.

Very Handy
Very handy for keeping yarn clean and untangled and keep it from rolling across the floor. It works best with small to medium size balls or skeins. There is a slit at the top and also a hole near the bottom. The hole near the bottom works well for the medium size skeins, especially the center pull, You can prop the skein at an angle, and pull through the hole.I had thought of purchasing one of the larger, more expensive ceramic yarn bowls, but I wasn’t sure I would use it, so I bought this to try. I’m quite happy with it and don’t plan to buy the ceramic one at any time in the near future. It won’t work with every yarn, but it works with many, especially the smaller, and it’s those smaller size balls/skeins that are the hardest to handle. If a small ball of yarn is jumping around (especially when you don’t use a center pull), you can try putting the bowl upside down.Only one warning: the top opening has a slit, so you can pull the yarn of the bowl through there is you find the bowl is not working for you. The bottom hole, however, does not have that option, so do a test swatch first to see how it is working with that yarn.

Perfect little bowl
This bowl works perfectly! I love how the bottom of it keeps it from moving around to much! As long as your not pulling hard on your yarn it will still put! It is small though and works great with small skeins! Not ideal for large or even regular size skeins!

Love it
Love this bowl, but unfortunately so does my two year old. Word of caution: the rubber base just sits in a groove and is not permanently attached. If your kid discovers they can yank it out, it will never stay in like it should again. So... be careful not to pull out the rubber ring. This bowl is not large, as others have said. It is cereal bowl sized and doesn't work well with skeins. It is great for balls though, and it stays put very well. I even had a hand wound ball in it while I used my shiny new ball winder to wind it into a more uniform ball... the yarn flies off the ball really fast when you are winding, and this thing didn't budge.I also like how the top of the bowl is scalloped, which gives the yarn a place to rest when it isn't in the loop or hole. I don't really like using the hole, as center pull yarn seems to feed better when you let it pull from the top. The loop is nice as long as the yarn is unwinding in the right direction, but if the ball flips around so that it starts unwinding against the slit it will pull out of the loop. No big deal though.I just might have to buy another one of these for projects with multiple yarn balls in use at the same time.

Good basic yarn bowl
Loathe to spend a ton of money on a pretty wooden yarn bowl that would probably be both too small and quickly broken when a kid (or me) dropped it, I took a chance on this little guy, and I'm glad I did. It can hold a pretty big ball of yarn, is lightweight but doesn't tip, and it has a rubber foot thing that keeps it from sliding on a table or other flat surface. The plastic, though hard, is soft enough to file if you need to; I needed to because one of my kids took a scissors to it, leaving sharp gouges on two of the top scalloped edges. So I took a nail file - the sort with multiple different grits for buffing etc - and it was quickly fixed. Better actually, since I found a few of the top scallops a little sharp for comfort near my yarn, so I just smoothed them over at the same time. It's also easy to clean. I'm happy and am sure I'll be using it for years to come.

Nifty little addition to your crafting toolbox
Even us crocheters like this thing! For those of you who say "I don't need a yarn bowl", or "I refuse to spend $50 for a designer yarn bowl at my yarn store", this may be the answer to your prayers. Look, I tried making a bunch of DIY yarn bowls. This was after I finished fighting with yarn balls/cakes and cats, and picking off dust and chasing those dang things all over the house. I used bowls of all materials, binder clips, even carved out an old tupperware bowl once. What a mess. I thought for the price, I'd give it a shot. I have other things from Yarn Valet that turned out to be better than expected. This yarn bowl has really worked out well.If you belong to a knitting / crocheting group, it's really helpful because you can just stick it on the table and go at your craft. No more chasing your yarn ball all over Panera's floor because it fell off your lap! The bowl travels well, looks nice in spite of being plastic (it's NICE plastic, not that flimsy stuff you might expect), nicely designed. I have fed through different yarn weights - crochet thread, fingering, worsted, bulky and even that fun fur crap that we never know what to do with! My yarn never snagged, and I was pleased with the functionality of the bowl. This yarn bowl won't change your life, it won't make you knit/crochet any faster or better, and it won't give you the answer to the meaning of life. BUT...it may allow you to enjoy your hobbies just a little bit more, which keeps the cussing down to a minimum. And that's worth $13, right?

Me encanta!
Excelente precio!
