ANSWERS THE QUESTION OF HOW MAINE MASTS WERE TRANSPORTED TO ENGLAND FOR THE ROYAL NAVY
A great little book that answers the question of how 120 ft masts were transported in bulk to England for use in the Royal Navy. For a long-time naval historian, I finally found the answer to that factoid. Well researched with great drawings to illustrate the process and gives an idea of the reach of a kings privilege and the political implications. I highly recommend this book

Excellent black and white drawings
Very informative. Excellent black and white drawings. I wanted to know how olden-time foresters got massive White Pine masts into the holds of mast ships, and now I know!

Wooden Prose & Masts
Told in the curt, wooden prose of an academic paper—it won't earn any literary awards—this small book presents a mostly unknown piece of American/British history.

Good info but disappointing
Would be a better wikipedia entry. Not enough substance to call it a book
