STAEDTLER STD1004H Mars Lumograph Pencil

These are some high quality drawing pencils. They glide across the paper and have great feel in your hand because of their glossy enamel finish. The graphite is exceptionally smooth and fine, which means no scratching on your drawing. The 4H lead weight is ideal for drawing layout and light shading. It is a fairly hard lead. Lumographs also have the leads bonded to the wood the entire length of the pencil so they are very hard to break. I sharpen them and the lead never breaks on me. I consider these some of the best pencils around.
