This is a very sturdy stand for the price. I do wish the company would package it better. I ordered two. The first one I opened was perfect. The second had been damaged in shipping. One of the tension knobs was busted and the extension arm was jammed into the holder. The holder was bent and the plastic was damaged. I promptly ordered a replacement and received it within two days. Unfortunately it too had a problem. The small tension knob on the extension arm would not tighten. The screw hole needed to be tapped out. I returned that one for a refund and bought another one. I know what you are thinking..."two of the three were either defective or damaged, why would you order another?"Please hear me out....I LOVED the first one. It does what it is supposed to do. These stands will not be used on the road, but will be used in my classroom to hold light-weight condenser microphones.The replacement stand came today (12-29-2020) The box was beat up. It had been opened and retapped. I was worried. I looked it over as I was pulling it from the box....not a scratch on it. Best of all...IT WORKS! Yea!! Happy customer here.

After much research I got Samson Mk-10. But it didn’t hold My Audio-Technica AT2035 condenser microphone properly. It was prone to tipping over and the boom arm was too short of my requirement. So I returned it and got this Pyle Heavy Duty Microphone Stand. I ordered this mainly because of it sold base and its lengthy boom arm (29.5)My requirement was to play digital piano and record vocal from condenser mic. So I needed a long boom arm with sturdy base. Pyle was the perfect choice for that. I kept the Pyle stand on the extreme left side of the piano and extended (80%) the boom arm till the middle C of my piano. Then attached the condenser mic and tightened the boom arm knob in 40 degree angle.To my surprise the boom arm didn’t hold my microphone in 40 degree angle. It slowly started sliding down to 180 degree. I tightened the boom arm locking knob multiple times but it didn’t work. Then finally I added counter weight (my tools bag) on the extreme left and it did the magic.Verdict1. Perfect choice if you would like to attach dynamic mic2. Perfect choice if you would like to attach condenser mic with boom arm extended to the max of 50%. If you extend the boom beyond 50% you need a counter weight.3. Nice quality

This thing has everything you want in a good, solid mic stand. I am 6'3" and it adjusts plenty high for even me to stand and sing into a mic. It is black powder coated steel, has rubber tips on the feet so it won't slide around. The adjusting knobs for tightening and loosing. There's even a metal rod you can use to keep the upright part from collapsing down which snaps into several pre drilled holes if you wish to use it. The only thing that might bother some folks is that it doesn't collapse and fold down as far as some that you can carry in a bag. But I've found that the types of stands that collapse and fold, etc for more convenient carrying are usually flimsier or have to be taken apart. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this stand. It lives up to its description!! Hard to believe this stand is that inexpensive. You can adjust it down for sitting on a stool or standing or anywhere in between and the boom pole is also fully adjustable. It doesn't sag or change position once you have it adjusted and with everything tightened this mic stand will stay where you set it.

The media could not be loaded. So first off, for less than 30 bucks I didn’t expect much but didn’t really need anything amazing but I’ve been around a lot of mic stands and I was honestly how surprised I was with how sturdy and solid this thing was, mics have a little weight so I didn’t want it to feel super light and wobbly and it def isn’t, no parts of it feel light or cheap this think is solid all parts were flawless and worked perfectly, def a score, I hope who ever is looking for an affordable mic stands finds this review.

I'm on my 3rd one!This is a great stand for a great price IF: It primarily stays in one place and you need a longer arm to reach whatever your mic-ing up. It has long legs that can fit around certain objects like a giant pedal board (I often use the HeadRush Prime).This is a terrible stand IF: You gig more than once a week with it. Everything strips!! And strips fast! Which is really saying something because most stands don't last as long as you want them too. The arm will go limp, the legs will come undone, the part that connects the arm to the bottom have will fall off... etc. It's also bad for anytime you need to set up in a tight spot.That being said, I like the way it works for one of my set ups so much that I just bought my 3rd one, which is still cheaper than buying one like this from a music store somewhere more legit (You can spend $150.00 on one of these). I plan to modify it myself so that I can get a longer life out of it, and maybe even try to fix one of my older ones.Recommend: Making sure all the screws and bolts are tight when you get it and keep an eye on them. Also be sure to be extra careful, making sure you always loosen it when adjusting the boom arm. Don't be lazy like me!
