Mitts are easy to use and effective.
One of my favorite kitchen purposes. From gripping hot cast iron handles to removing things from the oven, these little mitts are quick to put on and effective. Plus, even if they're wet, they won't conduct heat like the cloth oven mitts do. I accidentally bought two sets. Gifted a set to my mom and she loves the mitts too.The tongs are easy to clean and also useful.

The hot pads are amazing! They fit around a 13 by 9 pan at 450 degrees and you feel nothing! They are real easy to wash! Love them! I like the tongs because when you have a thicker cut of meat; like a roast you can lock them in place so nothing slides.

Great set
I'm used to these being so huge that I can't get a grip, but these fit nicely. The tongs were an added bonus and they're super handy. I'm going to order another set for my sister that just got married.

Great Set and Addition to Your Kitchen Tools!
I already owned a set of kitchen tongs however, they were not silicone. I disliked using them most times as I feared the plastic would end up in my family's food with their use as it was often melting. I was in need of a tong set that did not melt at high heat and provided me with no worries when utilizing them. I also wanted ones that locked so that they would take up less space in a kitchen drawer. When this two pack silicone food kitchen tongs and oven mitts/pot holders arrived, I was happy to be able to throw away my old tongs. From the beginning, I was quite impressed with my tongs just by looking at them as the metal beat my old set that was plastic. In addition, while I didn't know at the time of purchase that these locked closed, once I discovered they did I was even more pleased. They appear to be made of high grade stainless steel which will mitigate rusting and the silicone can withstand high heat. Upon using them, two days in a row now, I know this to be true as I used them both while grilling on an outdoor BBQ and to turn food that was in the oven at 475 degrees Fahrenheit. Not only did the silicone not melt, but the steel did not become hot to the touch. They ahve maintained their shape, and do well being washed in the dishwasher. They are easy to use, of good weight, and easily allow you to pick up food to flip over, etc. Even thin bacon slices. They each also have a ring at the top, where the lock mechanism is, which is convenient for hanging on your outdoor grill so that it is not lying on a surface between uses. This could also be handy if your kitchen is designed to store cooking utensils on a hanging mechanism. As for the potholders, I strongly dislike wearing full oven mitts mostly because they feel strange. I prefer the ease of these pot holders as they allow for a more natural feel when removing hot things from the oven. They resemble the same motion I would make when using two kitchen towels to grab something from the oven, my former preferred method, yet they insure you will not be burned as had been the case with towels in the past.Overall this set is a great addition to your kitchen tools. They are helpful and useful both indoors and outdoors for all your cooking needs. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest, and unbiased opinion.

I had been wanting a set of these tongs after seeing them at the house of a friend during a bar-b-que. They are great -to open them you push the nozzle at the end of them and pull to close them. The closing lock function comes in great for storing the drawers without the worry of them getting on something else when pulling them out. So far the larger ones I have used for grilling as they pick up and flip meat nicely on the grill. These also come in handy with hot dogs and sausage on the stove so to keep your hand further away from the boiling water. The smaller ones I have used for chicken nuggets and asparagus as well as other little items I cook. They do the job nicely and there is not struggle or discomfort that is present with other tongs that I have used. When it comes to the oven mitts they seem a little nerve racking, but they do just as good a job as regular size oven mitts do. The biggest concern is the possibility of burning yourself, but I did not have a problem with that at all though I do use regular mitts often so I am used to the openness that is present. I believe since they are different they may take a bit of time to get used to for anyone who is not used to regular mitts as opposed to gloves. All of the items clean nicely with hand wash and not in the dishwasher though I do not clean my other tongs and gloves that way to ensure longer durability.I have included pictures of my items I received after being used and washed a number of times. In return for my honest review I received these items at a discount.

NIce Tongs and Mini-MItts
You get what you see here, two kitchen tongs with silicone rubber tips and two small silicone mini-mitts that look like duck beaks. The latter are great for pulling hot plates out of the microwave. They're not quite large enough to fit over a whole hand like a real mitt.I have two other sets of tongs with silicone rubber tips, both from other manufacturers. The tips on the other tongs are permanently attached to the stainless steel ends of the tongs. They can't be removed. If you accidentally scorch a tip, you'll have to throw the whole thing out. Also, on one of my older tongs, the locking mechanism is frustratingly flimsy. It's always accidentally locking itself when I hold the tongs closed in an upright position. The tips on these tongs can be removed. I don't know why you would want to remove them, but if you do remove them, you'll find a tapered stainless tab underneath designed to receive the rubber tip. In a bind, if you wanted to take something off the barbecue, you could slide the tips off and not have to worry about scorching the tips. Just a thought. Not sure anyone would want to do it.These are good quality tongs with a good solid locking mechanism. They won't gravity feed into a locked position like my other ones do.The mini-mitts are nice addition. For the record, I received these for free in exchange for an honest review.
