Works great, but it doesn't have a USB
This is a great simple UPS. Installation is straight forward, but 2 things to note: 1. No USB port, so if you are using a Mac like I do - there is no way for your UPS to talk to your computer 2. APC's software for Mac comes in 2 categories: old and non-existant I have it rackmounted, but had to get different rails than the ones supplied with it, the original ones work, but they are short and the unit tips backward a bit, about 1/4", so we used spare full length rails to mount this unit, but had to re-drill them side holes for screws. So, all in all - good bang for the buck, but next time I'll probably spend more to get the features I need.

Just what the doctor ordered
mounts perfect in a standard 19" rack, no adjustments needed. came with all the needed hardware for mounting. keeps the DSL modem, router, switch and NAS powered up when the lights go out. which happened about a week after I turned it on :)) as noted by others only a serial port no USB port. not a deal killer for me.

Works well, outdated interface but price is right, fan buzzes and resonates a bit
I bought this as a replacement for a power strip, so I could put it under my iMac and have short cords powering everything on my desk. It was an anti-clutter device which just so happened to also include a battery. The serial interface is a joke but I don't really need it to communicate with the computer. I never walk away from the computer with important work unsaved, so really it's just there to keep me from losing in-progress work due to a power outage. So the on board alarm is fine. Most frustrating part of this is the fact that it has a fan inside of it that adds yet-another-resonant-whirr into my computer setup. Maybe that is typical of UPSes in general. Anyway I have enough sounds already that it's not that big a deal, I can tune it out. But it will definitely mess up my ability to do audio recording even further. Another thing to note is that a lot of computer equipment uses wall warts and other annoying interfaces. But the four plugs on this are in a straight line with no gaps. Bear in mind that if you have anything bigger than a typical 3-prong plug then you might only fit 2 devices to plug into the 4 outlets. It seems to sometimes for no obvious reason go onto UPS power for a moment, and then go off of it. Perhaps it is malfunctioning, or maybe it just detected enough of a power spike that it felt prudent to go to battery. These instances only happen once every couple of days and last only seconds...but they happen.

Works Great
I purchased this UPS for a network rack to keep the routers and switches powered in my office. The unit works great and includes all mounting hardware. The unit is very deep, so make sure your rack has adequate room behind it. Also as others have mentioned there is no USB port, didn't matter for me.

Works Perfectly
It works. I waited to post a review until I was able to put the UPS to the test in a real world outage, and that's what happened yesterday. The power went out in my house and this thing did everything it should have done. It sent a shut down signal to my server and provided it with enough power to shut down properly.

Amazon listed battery type is wrong
The Amazon listing stated battery composition is Lithium Ion, however it is a lead based type battery. It is a rugged 1RU with attachable rack ears. I like how it has a serial port for Comms as this keeps the price way down. In my unit the internal temp sensor is not working right showing 3C on the Power Chute app on my PC in a 17C room. Tragically the test record printout affixed to the unit does not show the temperature reading.

Great Unit
Great unit. We use them all the time on the road with a band. Bounced around highways and airports - never failed yet.

Rack mount hardware does not work with standard rack
I have not even plugged this in yet so I can not comment on the UPS aspect of this product. However, I bought this to put in a standard 19" rack unit. The rack case is made by SKB for musical equipment but should also work for computer equipment. After putting the mounting hardware on the UPS unit, it does not fit in the SKB rack. It is too wide by at least a 16th of an inch. I am now looking for a metal grinder to manually reduce the size of each rack ear to the proper size so I can use this product. The price is right (and the free shipping is great on such a heavy item) but if you want to mount this in a standard rack you may need get some metal working tools and do some manual labor.
