Because they're worth it! I am on my second simplehuman Semi-Round Step Trash Can, Black Plastic, 50 L / 13 Gal and with the first I used a variety of grocery store brands. When my first can bit the dust after nearly five years, I ordered a second one which came with samples of these bags. I thought it was a nice touch to keep me from having to buy garbage bags for a week. Surely bags that each cost three times that of the grocery store bags were not three times better. I was wrong. These are about ten times better. A few nice features about these bags: First, I have never had one rip in the nearly 1 year I've used them. You can judiciously stuff trash into the can and pull the bag out with no broken bags. Nor have I had a puncture that caused stuff to leak into the can. Not. Even. Once. The only time I have had to clean out the inside of the trash can is when one of my kids threw stuff into it before I could put a new bag in. Second, these bags fill up the entire can. No stretch feature (yeah, the garbage bag companies are selling us less of a bag as a 'feature') required. I found I could get about 25% more into the can before having to take the trash out. The only drawback to these bags is that they do nothing to contain smell or deodorize. The can will smell like whatever you had in your trash, but since the bag isn't leaking anything the smell goes away quickly, plus you can use other products to deodorize if you really care.

Overview I always use the OEM bags, but with a few home retailers now out of business, these can be hard to find locally... They fit perfectly, assuming you get the correct size, and they are quite strong (both the bag itself, and the built in tie. Be careful if you jam them too full...they are already tight fitting, so the extra refuse can really jam them in. If you do pack them tight be careful not to pull them out with the built in ties, they will tear. These are a little pricey...I only use about 1 per week so the convenience outweighs the cost. De véritables sacs poubelles solides qui ne craquent pas, hermétiques. J’ai à présent beaucoup de mal avec les autres marques que je teste parfois ! Un peu chers mais de qualité .

These are very strong bags that fit the rather glam bin they are made for. They do not slip if fitted properly, so the bin has never had food spilt because of the bag falling off, and they are very strong with ties. I thought I might revert to black plastic but I haven't, as these work so well. I can also put them full in the bin for collection and add things to them while there, if I need to, as there is always room after taking them from the kitchen to add more.
