Good buy despite annoying lids
Great product for introducing solids—our baby loves the taste, and it mixes smoothly with water (and apple sauce!). The organic ingredients and iron content give us peace of mind. Only downside: the lids are a bit tricky to close securely. Overall, a good buy!

It is good to mix with fruit
At first my baby didn't like it. Later I adjust the portion of water and also add blended fruit. My baby loves it with fruit puree, like apple, blueberry, etc. I like it is organic.

GREAT for starting solids!!
I bought this cereal for introducing solids to my 6 month old, and continued using it to meet my baby's nutritional recommendations for grains. She took to it very well and hasn't had any stomach issues. It's one of her favorite things to eat now! You can add more or less of the cereal to modify the texture based on your baby's development stage with solids, and can help get your baby more used to textures. It's a good value in bulk and super easy to make and mix with fruits. If you are looking for a bulk grain cereal for your baby, I would recommend buying this.I hope this review was helpful!

Dangerous!! Metal Shavings in the oatmeal!!
Like many others have found, there were metal shavings in the oatmeal!! And yes, it stuck to the magnet, like others have said & showed here. Gerber's information calls this "iron Electrolyte), which is added for supposed health?!! Real metal pieces are their way of adding iron to this product?!! I'm horrified & so glad to have found this out before giving it to the baby! It's their way of making babies SICK, is what I would say. Oh MY! I ordered Bob's Red Mill oatmeal instead & will make our own.

Great product for busy mornings
I have fed all three of my children this brand of oatmeal and they have all enjoyed it. It’s so easy to make a breakfast or a snack with one of these and either water, or a fruit or veggie purée pouch, or yogurt. I would say that these are a must have for busy parents. My kids all really enjoy the texture and the flavor. My only complaint is that the lid is very poorly designed and does not stay on well.

Our baby likes it with just water
We bought this to start our baby on solid foods because we figured this was a better first solid food for baby than the rice cereal (what with the risk of having higher levels of arsenic). First we mixed it with some formula, just like a lot of baby articles online recommended but it was hard feeding it to our baby --- a lot of that food ended up in the bibs or being tossed in the sink since he wouldn't eat much of it. Not to mention, mixing it with the formula gave it a very distinct metallic smell. We figured it was the high levels of iron in the formula added to the also high levels of iron in the cereal that caused the metal smell. Eventually my wife tried with just water and the baby practically ate up the whole bowl. Plus, we didn't have the metallic smell anymore. Soon we will mix this with some fruits and veggies but for us, this is definitely a great starter solid food for baby.
