Good luck getting the cap to fit on your Stihl weed eater head, it took some time, muscle and and a tool to get this out of spec aftermarket part to go on and to get it back off, not to mention the spool the weed eater string goes on doesn’t have holes for the string to go into to where you can start winding it. Please make parts to fit right or don’t make parts at all!

Lost a piece of the old head cutting grass and this was almost as cheap but refreshed the entire head. The spool locks on well and hasn't popped off yet

Used these to repair the Stihl Autocut 25-2 mowing head on my Stihl FS120 trimmer/brush cutter. Two things were not right and required changes to make these useable: 1) there were no holes drilled in the spool (like the Stihl product) to hold the trimmer lines in the spool - I drilled two, #33 holes tangentially in the cast-in bosses for that purpose, and 2) the spring that goes under the spool is too long and too stiff - it required excessive force to 'bump' the spool to feed line. I picked up a Stihl spring (shorter and softer) and installed it. After these two revisions, things worked fine.

Fit trimmer perfectly, I did have to drill the hole for the line in the spool, but not a big deal considering the price, works with no issues.

The pilot holes to start the line on the spool were too shallow. Had to drill them deeper. And after doing this, I realized, having drilled all the way through the plastic, now when I load new line, I have to be careful not to push it in too far, or it will protrude to the inside of the spool and prevent the spool from springing back out when bumped.The good news is, it does what it's supposed to do. When I bump it on the ground, more line advances out. Yay.

This was for my weeder and it fit well and price was reasonable

First off it does look like Stihl. the bump knob does have the raised parts to install trimmer line it does not have the holes in the line area to install two trimmer lines. You will have to drill them out with a 7/32 drill bit. The eyelets have to be filed down to allow them to fit into the slots on the trimmer cup.if you do not they are very fragile /brittle and will break installing them. The bump knob will fit but not operate properly .THe outer ring actually fits ok and the spring is ok.
