GE WR55X10968 Genuine OEM Main Control Board Assembly for GE Refrigerators

I bought this part to put in a used frIdge we’d gotten at an estate sale. It worked great for about a month, then started making a howling noise. We joked that it was haunted...and then it died. Long story short-Apex had what I needed at the best price. Super fast shipping and when I had questions about the item I received, John made it right. Can’t say enough good things about this transaction. I’ve already recommended Apex to someone else. One tip: save your old pchav parts til you’ve gotten the replacement. This part was exactly what I needed. I now have a fridge that, new, cost over $1600-for under $200, including this repair.

The board worked great as a replacement. Problem: The variable speed compressor would at full capacity until some fault would stop cooling and fan until another power cycle (unplugged and re-plugged in)Solution: the new board worked perfectly. The compressor gradually came up to full capacity and cooled per the temp settings for the refrigerator and freezer. I don't think the compressor ever operated correctly with the original control board. It always seem to be run at full capacity.The $100 board was a no-brainer. We were looking at replacing the whole unit.

Here's the deal, I've asked local appliance parts suppliers, called General Electric, asked for assistance here and on and on. I've supplied the Model #, Tag # on the board and the code etched onto the board itself. Although I'm appreciative of all the input, I've been told (by several different repairman, suppliers and people here on Amazon) that the proper part is the WR55X10942C , WR55X10942, WR55X10942P, WR55X10968, WR55X109I8, WR55X109I4. How can it be this difficult? I'll tell you how, GE doesn't know, with certainty, which part is correct so how would anyone else know??? At the end of the day.....every board has been returned and the fridge is still not running. Now just to be clear, all I'm trying to do is locate the board that has the correct amount of connection points and correct layout. Every board I've tried does not function for one feature or another. The reason I'm replacing the board is due to the large relay intermittently needs to be tapped (like dirty/burned contact) otherwise everything works. However no matter which board I install, the refrigerator will not even fire up. So now I have the original board back in but Im in need of the correct one! GE, you gotta figure out you parts interchange/update/correct numbering because I'm not the only one that's banging my head against a wall to figure this out.

I bought this part last June 18 on amazon and did not use it until today, have to save money for another part that is expensive a GE inverter for the compressor also bought from amazon for $160 plus, that arrived yesterday. So happy, that finally i can now install all needed part for my GE refrigerator but unfortunately the main control board that i bought last June 18 from amazon was defective and did not work as I expected. Now i'm stuck again, can I still return the main control board even though it's more than 30days? I need to save money again to buy again a main control board... I am a long time valued client of amazon and an amazon prime member..
