🚀 Elevate Your Outdoor Projects with Ease!
The Orbit Plastic Walkway Tunnel Kit is a cost-effective solution for running water pipes or conduits beneath sidewalks. This kit includes a nozzle for one end of the pipe and a hose connection for the other, making it easy to set up with standard 3/4-inch pipes and garden hoses (sold separately).

Really works - even in Seattle clay!
I had to install low voltage landscape lights at my new house, and I wanted one to demarcate the walkway on the other side of the sidewalk - the planting strip - because the Uber drivers never seem to stop at the correct spot for my house. Of course, there was no way (I thought) to get the wire to feed under the sidewalk and into the planting strip from the yard. Boy was a I wrong - I discovered this product and was very, very skeptical. Sure, some Floridian with sand-for-a-yard might make it work, but could it cut through glacial till and clay in Seattle? I bought it anyway, ran to the local hardware store to grab some 3/4" sched 40 PVC, and figured I had nothing to lose.Took less than five minutes to put some PVC primer and glue on the pipe and stick the whole thing together. The hardest part was digging out the needed feed hole. Even though it says you need to dig a trench as long as the sidewalk/driveway is wide, that's a lie. PVC is slightly flexible, so you really just need a shallow trench a few feet long and just deep enough to undercut your pavement.Hooked the pipe up to the garden hose, turned it on, and I was through the sidewalk in ten minutes or less.Note that this is a one-time use item. When your pipe is through, you leave it in place and cut both the caps off, then throw them away. Your PVC remains buried as conduit. In theory - you could get a couple of PVC couplers and a new length of pipe and re-use the ends if you cut enough off to save it, but it's really not worth it... You could also pull a chase string back if you wanted to pull the pipe out, but again - why make it harder on you. This set is golden... will be using another copy of this set again for a future landscaping project!

Works great!
Gave this a shot to see if it would work. Used it to put some 6 ga wire under my sidewalk for 50 amp service for my RV - not the intending purpose. But it worked. My soil is has some clay in it but once I got the hole dug I put the hose on it and guessing it took less than two minutes to get it to go under the sidewalk. Hole wasn't quite big enough for my wire so ended up taping the wire to the nozzle end PVC pipe and did a second time and got the wire through. Removed the tape from the wire pulled the PVC pipe back out. Compared to a drill system this is a very inexpensive way to go! For sprinkler systems and other type stuff this is a fantastic solution. I was thinking a bit outside of the box for this one but I could not be happier with the results. $5 for the this item and $2.25 for the PVC. If I need to go under a sidewalk again I am definitely going to use this gizmo again.

A very handy tool
inexpensive item that cannot be substituted if you need to create a pathway for wire or pipe under concrete. So easy to use. Just add the PVC pipe cut to your needed length, attach the pieces and connect to a garden hose. Blast away!

Great for getting under driveway or sidewalks
This item will save you money and time. I was very impressed how this worked. I increased the original size of pipe so I could run electrical wire under the double driveway. It was good on one side, but you have to try to keep the nozzle pointed up toward the driveway. I ended up starting just a few inches deep on one side, but on the other side it ended up being 4 ft deep. I cut the ends off and ran electrical line to the otherside of driveway. I had a quote done for someone to run the electrical line. It was $400. This item was under $20. Saved me a bunch of money.

Look acceptable.
Some folks disliked the fact that you need to glue these onto a pvc pipe or connection. I am thinking of just using a Tap and Die set just to see how that works. I have no doubt the item be able to perform the intended function of creating a pathway under a sidewalk.

Excellent
Excellent fit and performance. Applied to a 10' x 3/4" pvc pipe. Works great.

I didn't think it would work but it did
I actually almost gave up at first but then after wiggling back and forth I discovered it was hitting a rock and wiggling it back and forth actually flushed the rock out of the hole. Then after that it was pretty easy. I suggest wiggling even if it doesn't hit a rock as that seems to blast the side walls of the hole which makes it easier.

One time use
Glue this thing onto the pipe and then throw it in the trash. Sad. Make this a screw on option with a way to thread the pipe and it would be great.

Work as expected.
Just be sure to keep the pipe as level as possible while pushing underground.

PVC pipe and PVC tubing are entirely different things!
For the life of me, I could not figure out how to connect this thing to the PVC pipe I was buying at Canadian tire. First I bought 1" PVC pipe, would not fit. Then looked on line, found a note you need to use 1" couplers for 1" pipe. Bought those at CT too, again did not fit. Then bought 3/4" PVC pipe at CT, that didn't fit either. Finally measured the outer diameter of the 1" pipe with calipers, looked on line, PVC pipe with that outside diameter does not exist. Turns out, what CT sells as 1" PVC pipe is actually 1" PVC tubing, which has entirely different dimensions. Bought actual 1" PVC pipe and couplers at a different store and finally got the thing connected. Only took 5 trips to 2 different stores during a pandemic to actually be able to hook this thing up (face palm). Tried to use it tonight, but wasn't getting anywhere with it, which is surprising because the water does come out quite forcefully. I think the key may be to keep the nozzle an inch or so away from the dirt, rather than trying to jam the nozzle directly into the dirt. Will see...
