This Smart Bulb not a smart choice
This isn't a bad product, but it's not a good product either. For starters, it's Bluetooth enabled and not WiFi enabled. I purchased to test out smart bulbs in my house. Unfortunately, I didn't really get the best trial run. The bulb is very heavy and the app that controls it is clunky. It does work, but only if you stay connected to the app. If you disconnect from it, the light bulb stops working. The positive thing about this product is that it works autonomously and doesn't require any other hardware - only the app and a Bluetooth connected mobile device.

OK LED Bulb When Working!
This bulb when working is great. Problem is often times I couldn't pick it up on the app on my iPhone. I'm not sure why not. Since I got this I also got the HUE bulbs which work on their app every time. This bulb does essentially the same thing, and for less money. Like I said, when it works, it's great, but when it doesn't......Anyways, Using the app, you can change colors, make it flash in time to music, and a bunch of other cool things. When people came over, I'd show it to them and they were really awed.Maybe your router or WIFI will be better than mine, but like I said, after using HUE, they have it all over this, so I don't think it's my router or WIFI.

A $50 light bulb that isn't very smart
I bought this bulb primarily for the wake-up light feature. When compared to the Philips Wakeup Light and similar product, it looked like the lumen would be a cheaper option with a bunch of more useful features, but the disappointing fact of the matter is that this bulb completely falls flat as a 'smart' lightbulb.Does it produce light? Yes. Can you make the light change color? Sometimes. Does the bulb turn on automatically at a time you can specify? Nope. The Lumen app for iPhone is not very well designed, but it seems to work well enough. There are a lot of obvious features that it's missing and the UI is very poorly thought out. The main problem with it though is that the app is just not very good at talking to the light. 50% of the time I open the app, it can't connect to the bulb and I have to powercycle the bulb a few times while opening and quitting the app until it will recognize the bulb that it is 6" away from. At that point the app will let you change the bulb brightness and color and does it fairly reliably, but if you close the app and then reopen it to turn the bulb off 10 minutes later, it's a real crapshoot as to wether or not you're going to have to do a rain dance to get the thing to connect again.Even when the app is working perfectly, it manages to take the simple process of turning a light on and off and turn it into a 30 second ordeal. Even if the light didn't have a switch, I could access and unscrew a lightbulb in less time than it takes me to turn the light off via the app.The biggest disappoint for me has been the wake-up feature - because it doesn't work. The interface here, again, is awful - but you can find your way around it to set the time you'd like the light to turn on as well as choose wether you want it to take 5 or 10 minutes to turn on. The app also assures you that, after you hit save, the pertinent information is stored in the bulb itself so you don't even have to have your phone on for the wakeup feature to work once it's been set up. So why doesn't it work? I don't know. I've tried to use the bulb as my alarm clock for the past week or so and I think it's automatically turned itself on once - and that time it still didn't actually turn on until about 40 minutes after I had it set. After receiving the bulb and playing with it, I thought it was neat, a novelty - but it also became apparent that this isn't even in the same market as the Philips Hue and its competitors. There's an inherent flaw in trying to connect each bulb directly to your device - if you're looking at this bulb with visions of having a smart home with connected lightbulbs, it's just not going to happen - you'd have better luck if someone invented some sort of cable that you could connect this bulb to that had some sort of physical interface for turning the bulb on and off... Oh yeah, they have those. It's called a light switch and compatible bulbs are available at stores near you with MSRPs starting at 25¢.

Bulb good, app not so.
Bulb itself is great, the required app however leaves something to be desired. App often will not activate the lamp and instead finds a "new" bulb (I think I'm up to 16 bulbs on one lamp) and the remote turn on never worked (supposed to turn on the lamp whenever the phone is within Bluetooth range automatically, which would be very handy on entering IF it worked).

Unreliable app and bulb
I purchased 2 bulbs to accent two corners of my living room. Everything had been working okay with the app but I now have one bulb that flickers and I have to play with with the app to try to get it to work. This is the is all the time now. I will be looking for a different set of bulbs.

Wish I could have returned it.
The description of this bulb sounded great, but we were never able to get it to do the majority of the stuff it claimed.Maybe it's a user problem, but we had our own little Big Bang cast of IT professionals with no success.I would have returned it but the packaging was discarded.A very expensive white light bulb.

Great Hardware, Very poor software.
The hardware is excellent. However, the software is terrible. The application often losses sync with the bulb, so you have to reconnect it every time you wish to use it. The time based features never seem to work, instead it turns on the light at the wrong hours, waking you up.

Disappointed. Don't buy. Didn't work. Cheap asian crap. No support
The colors are nice and the bulb feels well built although the Android app doesn't function well. It crashes a lot and losses contact with it. The light just randomly shuts off and when it's dimmed to it's lowest level it has a slight strobing effect. Very disappointed. Will be returning.

Meh
It's not that this bulb doesn't do what it says it does, but it comes with a warning not to install in closed fixtures (which was not in the description when I purchased the bulb). Also turning off the bulb with a switch resets the colour setting. Using the app to control it works well, but in truth, I felt I would get tired of opening an app every time I wanted to turn on/off the light. I feel like better LED light bulbs are probably right around the corner (better than the Philips alternative as well) so I would recommend waiting, unless it's for the novelty. In which case you'll definitely impress people with your colour changing lamp ;)

Great product for the money
Great product for the money. Seems fairly reliable. The app is stable but it takes few seconds to reconnect to the bulb. However, it is a very cool way to impress your family and friends. hahahahahaaP.S. I will be updating this review because I've just ordered three more bulbs to experiment with the grouping feature.

I'm very disappointed with this purchase.
At first I was having troubles with that app (which controls the light) crashing, now i can't even get the bulbs to connect with the app. All I get is white light, with no ability to change colour. I'm very disappointed with this purchase.
