Ain't no indoor cycle shoe like TIEM!!!
Absolutely love my TIEM Slipstream cycling shoes. I wear these 3-4 times a week on a Schwinn indoor cycling bike. These cycle shoes fit true to size and are extremely comfortable. Very durable and extremely functional. Material allows foot to breathe while wearing. Shoes are available in a variety of colors, I actually have 3 different, the light gray, a black pair and a multi-color pair. While the TIEM shoes may be a higher price point than other indoor cycling shoes, for the quality and durability they are a great value and will be a pair of cycle shoes that last!

Perfect indoor cycling shoe
I learned about these by noticing the shoes worn by several women and the instructor at a cycling class at the gym. Amazon next day delivery and I had mine for the class 2 days later. Pros:- the solid shoe plate on the bottom gives you efficient transfer of energy from your foot to the pedal. It is recessed so you can walk in the shoes more normally. - the upper is stretchy so it conforms to your foot (very helpful for those with bunions.) But it is stiffer than Skechers so it holds that solid bottom plate tightly to your foot for efficient transfer of energy. It has a velcro cross strap to hold it tight after you put it on. - clipping in to a bike gives more efficient transfer of energy to the bike. But it also allows you to develop a better "circular pedaling" stroke where you push down during the full rotational cycle of each stroke. This is more efficient and spreads the effort out across more muscles. Tips: - follow the recommendation to purchase a half size less than your athletic shoe size, that worked perfectly for me. - mine are a little hard to pull on but comfortable once on. Use the pull tab on the heel when putting them on. - you need to purchase a cleat as well and attach it to the bottom. I just got the one amazon recommended as "often purchased together" and it worked on the gym bikes, but best to research before buying. Mine was less than $12 so cheap to replace. - you need a 4mm allen wrench to attach the cleat, order one if you don't already have one - alignment and positioning of the cleats is important, look for directions/videos Cons: none the I have seen.

Very comfy and well worth it!
Based on other reviews, I got these with no real expectations but I have been VERY pleasantly surprised! I bought these to wear in my spin class. I live two blocks from my studio so a shoe I could walk back and forth in was a plus for me. Fit: I wear an 8.5 or 9 in street shoes, and I wear an 9.5 in Brooks and Asics running shoes. I had been wearing size 41 Shimano road cycling shoes rented from my studio. I had orginally purchased a pair of LG road shoes in 41 and they were way too tiny and narrow. Based on reviews I read, I bought a 9.5 in the TIEMs. They do seem to run a TINY bit narrow, but not uncomfortably so. They feel secure in class. I have just enough room in the toe. Performance: I had read a couple of reviews stating that people felt the TIEMs were not stiff enough under the foot when clipped in, but I did not have that experience. They do feel very much like a cycling shoe, and have a stiff hard plastic under the center of the foot, so riding out of the saddle is just fine. They have more cushioning than other cycling shoes, which I really liked. I was comfortable the entire class, more comfortable than I am normally in the Shimanos. I do feel the cleats on the ground when waking on asphalt and cement, however walking around my home with hardwood floors was fine. Cleat installation was SUPER easy. I keep seeing people say they took them to a bike shop to do it but honestly it's just a matter of screwing them into the shoe. Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase, I'll cover the cost of shoe rental in about two months, so they are well worth it, especially given the increased comfort, not having to change shoes at the studio, and that they are just cute.

The best thing about this shoe is the US sizing. But not for feet with high insteps.
Pros: This shoe comes in actual (US) half sizes! Of the 20+ spin shoes I looked at, it was the only one. It was the most accurate shoe in length that I tried. The sole is great for walking in, which makes them great for spin class: you can walk across the gym floor without falling down. The heal does not slip. The knit fabric makes the shoes as comfortable as your gym shoes. They also seem to be made well. They are nice looking. Cons: The shoe is one piece (no tongue). It is a very snug fit, which is good for keeping the shoe in place while cycling. However, it is so snug that it actually puts my feet to sleep and causes pain. This is because I have high insteps. I have friends who have this shoe, and they have no problem. They love their shoes. Also, there is no arch support . Inserting an arch support just makes the tight instep tighter. So, if you have high insteps, need arch support, or if you have wide feet you won't be able to wear these shoes.
