Formulated with emollients for moisturizing the skin, proteins for conditioning the skin and essential fatty acids to nourish the skin and help control flaking and scaling. HylaGroom is recommended for cleansing of normal, dry and/or sensitive skins of dogs, cats and horses. Ceramide III helps support healthy skin by reducing transepidermal water loss, and helping restore the lipid barrier. The skin lipid barrier becomes disrupted by environmental stress (allergic response, low humidity), genetics and the normal aging process. When the skin barrier is disrupted, there is an increase in water loss and lipid structure damage. There is also increased allergen penetration and sensitivity.
