Tiny but wow! Better than my laptop speakers. Volume max is most surprising.
You know how there are "retro" games of wooden boards/puzzles/appliances, but are in reality lacking quality once bought? This is the complete opposite! I have only used it for one hour so no clue about how long it lasts after max charge. I bought this little speaker since my laptop has poor quality speakers. My old Bose speaker died some months ago and I did not want to buy something mediocre even after trying some demo from the local electronics stores. Lately it seems I have been bombarded with Youtubers and influencers promoting 'ok" and questionable brands speakers. I feared a bit that this cute retro one would fall into the same story of "people love it because it's ok and it's cute". Upon opening the Amazon box I was surprised to find the actual package box was decent! The speaker was nested in the foam insert. A charger cable was attached as was a typical "nice-touch" storage pouch (although that defeats the purpose of using a speaker?). Although it powered on after arrival, I plugged it into charge (micro usb from my own cable). After being bored of a Youtube binge and dinner I decided to test it out. Volume Pro, Warning: I do want to say NOTE: the volume controller needs a delicate touch. From the tuner all the way down I only need to move it maybe 0.25 of an inch to play in my room at night as not to disturb others. If it was daytime and I was doing errands, washing dishes, it can be cranked up. While I would not use this for a "party" unless quite small--it can get close to as loud as the max of a "regular TV" in my opinion. That's quite amazing when you see it in person and know it's a mix of metal or wood with plastic backing! Radio FM: It's exactly as I imagined in terms of use. The little dial turns to the FM function and the face lights up orange (and remains so). Then you turn the face tuner to change radio channels. The--signal reader--is on the top of the flat surface of the "radio box" so do not put your hand or block it or it will distort the radio sound to be "fuzzy". 5/5 in terms of wow and use and clarity. What I am not sure about is that the channels it picked up is way different than my car overall, so not sure why that is and before someone says was it AM?--based off most music stations I do not believe it was AM radio. Bluetooth: Yes! The entire reason I bought this is to listen to my tunes clearly while doing cleaning. Left the volume dial as is and paired with my phone's Bluetooth in 3 minutes. Then I just played a song. Right now the radio is on a desk away from me, and I can just tap the side volume control from my Note 8 and lower/increase the volume from my bed! I know it sounds a bit --gee really? how's that exciting?-- Well it is for me after having the finicky Bose that died which by the way was superior in sound quality, but I'm not going to shell out money like that again. It did last a few years, but I'm no audiophile. This cute lil speaker is my new best friend while doing chores. Also while in Bluetooth the "face" will light up Blue there is no way of turning it off to my knowledge. Not a bad thing in my opinion. Audio Quality: It's definitely good. It's not mediocre or "ok". It's actually decent/good/satisfying. Again, it's better than my laptop's speakers. It doesn't compare to my old Bose speaker or headphones, but it's not disappointing. In fact it's "that" good I will consider purchasing it as gifts! Other positive bits to know: There are two little feet that you can peel the plastic off to provide some "grip". I like to slide the radio (though that's a bit risky) on my desk so I left the plastic on. Mine came with a little wrist strap cord? It should be removable. I like that it's kind of like a tail so I left it on for now. Maybe the wrist strap is for use outdoors to loop the radio "safe" over a pole? I don't advise it, but---it's possible maybe? I'm not sure why someone would hold the speaker in their hands and use the strap wrist that way. Build/Color: It looks exactly like the picture. I purchased the "Cherry" color wood. I think it is really wood? It's really smooth and you cannot tell if it is molded wood pulp. The back Aux is easy to access and so is the charge port. I hope this device lasts longer than my Bose...anyway for the price it would be a fantastic Christmas gift or birthday gift. Possible Cons: 1. I don't know the battery life after max charge is true to the "9 hours" claim 2. People need to know to charge their radio with a micro USB. I think that task doesn't register based off some negative reviews I read. There is no quick battery replacement only micro USB charge. 3. The front is identical to the pictures, but know that at least for the "cherry wood" I bought, the back is clean and smooth, but black plastic casing is exposed. The wood does NOT wrap around the entire body! If you buy this please know that in case you expected it to fully cover or if you don't want guests to see that for whatever reason. 4. The charge port light indicator is a bit dumb as it is located below the insertion point. Meaning you cannot see the indicator light status unless you lift up and look or somehow coming from a lower angle. Minor annoyance. I can live with it.

The perfect accessory for lovers of the era.
Bought this for the aesthetic, but the audio quality is also fantastic. I have been using this every day for ambient music in my office, and the ease in which it connects to all my devices has far exceeded my expectations. It's not very big, so if you're looking for a showpiece, I wouldn't say this is it. But, it puts out great sound, is easy to use, and has the retro look my desk sorely needed.

I love this device!
I listen to a lot of podcasts and music through my phone, but they’re often hard to hear. I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker to improve the audio. I really liked the look of this one, but was hesitant to get it because of the small size. I’m so glad I took a chance!! As many have said, this device packs a punch in its small size. Not only does it get loud, it’s good quality sound. I’m surprised at how often I use the radio (in my mind, it was going to be primarily used for BT.) It also has aux input. The window around the radio dial is unlit when the unit is off, orange when it’s on radio, and blue when it’s on Bluetooth or aux. The small size makes it ideal for transporting. I use it around the house, in the garden, and have taken it with me to get togethers with friends. Battery life is good so far. I’ve only had the unit about a week, but so far I’m loving it. I use it everyday. The only downside I’ve noticed is that the radio dial turns a bit too easy. I frequently bump it when I’m moving the device from location to location. Its a small price to pay, though. I would buy this item again.

Worth every cent with great form and function.
I am very fond of this small Bluetooth Speaker. Very easy to set up, great sound, and the design goes perfectly with the decor of my mid-century modern kitchenette. Great quality device.

Excellent go-to that lasted me 1 year
I've used this for just over a year and it finally broke. PROS: - Great and impressive sound for such a small speaker! Both in quality and in volume - I often had to use it at its lowest sound setting in my home office. - Super easy to switch to bluetooth mode and use it as a computer speaker - all I had to do was spin the dial to the right twice and it would work in under 2 seconds. - Radio was excellent and was fun to use for a retro feel. - No batteries required, just need to charge it (which I prefer). Battery life is ok. - Super compact size and very aesthetic. It was easy to bring around to parties or in my backpack. CONS: - No battery indicator, paired with the fact that when it's low battery, it'll stop your music and play a recording of a woman with an asian accent saying "low battery, please charge". I always find this super jarring whenever it happens, and it happens kind of often because I never know what the battery's at. This was probably the biggest con. - About 6 months in, the bluetooth setting would occasionally have a hard time activating. - Now 12+ months in, the bluetooth setting has completely stopped working. Since I finally need a replacement, I'll be trying a different brand, but I would still recommend this speaker and would be happy to just buy another if the new brand doesn't work out. **UPDATE** I purchased a different brand and the radio reception sucked, so I'm just going to buy this one again. Godspeed.

I’m buying a fleet of these little radios
My husband was born in the wrong century. He was very skeptical of this little radio when I got it for him for Christmas. Liked the look, doubted having to charge it and the newfangled Bluetooth thing. But now he is obsessed. He carries it with him everywhere… like a puppy. He’s so excited by the sound quality, and impressed that the charge lasts for several days (he mostly listens to it while cleaning in the morning… to the music he once partied to in the 70s-80s….) He loves this little radio so much he makes the same positive comments on it every few days (should I ask the doctor about dementia testing??). Anyway his birthday is in May so I’m here to buy 4 more so he has one in the shop, upstairs, in the 67 Chevelle… wherever he feels the need so he stops carrying the original one in his pocket.

Teens love this
Gave this as a small gift for my teen daughter and she is OBSESSED with it now! It’s adorable, and she especially loves listening to the radio on this little guy. The sound is better than you’d expect for a little teensy plastic box like this, but don’t expect good bass for hip hop or anything like that. The light on the dial is really cute too. Great gift!

Perfecta

Tiny but big sound
I've got to admit I was surprised how small it was, I should have read the ad but such a cute little thing that sounds great with a really decent volume and much better than I expected due to the size. Comes in a quality box and genuinely feels well built and solid. Can't really comment on the battery life as I've only just received it but I was impressed enough to order another one for my friend! Thanks
