KONOVATripod Stability Arm for Slider (1 Arm in)

It's Okay - Don't use with long sliders or heavy loads.
If you're someone like me who bought the 24" konova slider and occasionally places it on a locked down moderately priced fluid tripod head, attached to moderately priced tripod sticks, with around a 8 lb. payload on top, and you still notice a weight transfer whenever you slide from one end to the other, then this might solve that problem. I say might because there are so many unknown variables which will overall determine whether or not this was a wise investment. So purchase with a skeptical mindset. I locked down everything, from stability arm to tripod heads, pushed gently from one end to the other, and still, STILL, the damn slider wobbled, if ever so slightly with the arm attached. You really have to tighten your stuff down. Even better - remove any moving parts that could potentially twist, or flex, from the equation. My camera rig includes a small fluid head, to allow pan / tilt of the camera, and sometimes 15mm rods, adapters, monitor, so no surprise the thing is heavy. Ideally you should screw your slider onto the top of your sticks, not the fluid head on top of your sticks. From here you get a rock solid connection. The arm itself extends to a certain length. It has a grip clamp on one end to attach on a tripod leg, and the other end a screw to attach to a far end of your slider. It turns your slider/tripod combo into an even bulkier mess. For short sliders I'd say you might have better luck. Get two of these and attach to either far end of the slider for additional stability.

Works well for this video producer
As an independent video producer (for 30 years), I finally am able to easily use the slider I'd bought together with my Manfrotto tripod. The stability arm is a simple idea which provides a stable, transportable framework for me to easily and quickly reposition the tripod/slider combo. Prior, I was limited on how I used the slider. Mounted mid-point on my tripod, the slider was unstable and basically unusable. Putting one end of the slider on the tripod and the other on a c-stand or light stand was a 'workable' solution, but required a lot of effort when I needed to move the whole shebang on set. Consequently, I didn't use the two together much. With the slider supported entirely (and stably) on the tripod, I can move the whole mechanism easily and get up and shooting in a matter of minutes, It's well built and functional. I would recommend anyone with a tripod and slider to consider this option to allow you to use the two together in a manner unique to using the two separately.

Great replacement for a 2nd tripod
I use this for my slider, it works great to add support so my slider stays level.Unsure how long the plastic adjustment knob will last but overall it serves its purpose.

Unsure at first, now a permanent part of my kit
I purchased a Manfrotto slider & have had issues with it especially using the camera out to the extremity of the slider. I didn't like the idea of adding one more fiddly thing to my setup, but didn't want to use two tripods either. Despite my reservations decided to try this arm, and have found it to solve the issue - am now able to get much more travel out of my slider without unwanted movement. It does make the tripod a little more unwieldy but it's much better engineered than I expected, it's designed to flex and extend while providing stability so it's become a permanent part of my kit. Thanks Konova for this product.

Better than nothing
the arm seems well built and is easy to use. while I can't say it completely stabilizes slider its definitely better than having nothing at all. The best answer will always be to have two tripods, one on each end of your slider. but for quick and dirty purposes this is a good buy.

Seems to add a extra support. Our camera setup is a little heavy and these do seem to help a little bit more than nothing at all.

Just what I needed very solid now.
I am using just one of these support arms on a Manfrotto tripod/head and an ifootage slider and it works perfectly. I'm glad to see that it doesn't require Konova hardware to work. I highly recommend this. Other reviewers have said you can get side to side sway but that's easily prevented by simply tightening down the rotation on your head and aligning the slider directly over one leg to start. Also instead of raising the middle section on your tripod extend the legs higher and then attach farther down the leg. It's rock solid for me using these techniques.

an be made to work with brands other than konova
I'm using the arm on a Kessler slider, so it can be made to work with brands other than konova. it just depends on the placement of the 1/4x20 jacks on your slider
