Homeschooled 8th grader uses as part of curriculum
This book is nicely bound and great quality. We use this for our homeschool and it does have lessons online that teach what activities are in it. Keeps us on track with 8th grade level learning. It isn't overwhelming with just math problems, it has explanations and works some examples out for you to try to teach the lesson as well. Pages are nice to write in and has doodles and cartoons to give it some personality.

Great book to catch up during the summer
My son has struggled with math for most of his life. In this past year he failed his 8th grade math class and ended the year knowing almost nothing. We bought this book not knowing how it works and what to expect from it. Thankfully it is really easy to follow and covers everything in logical order. Also its awsome that all the pages are gridded so that writing equations and solving problems is a lot more organized. Overall really great math book!

Pages in black and white
Pages are in gray scale and not in color like in preview, only thing that disappointed

Excellent book
My son loved this book! All the material was very well presented and explained. My son was able to follow it, do the work and get back to it when he couldn't quite get it. I liked how the concepts were presented and explained in plain language. Thank you for the great book. I'd highly recommend it to all 8-graders.

This was bought to reinforce some concepts from the previous grade. My son liked the book and did the tests himself. Will buy these books again.

Love the book
Love the workbook, however, on page 12 line 7 last word "pattern" is spelled incorrectly.

Very Poor Explanations
If you are going to sit with your child and work through these problems, you shouldn't have a problem. But if you expect your child to read the instructions at the beginning of each section and then work the section by himself/herself, forget it.The sample problem(s) offered in the instructions for each section are overly simplistic. They pertain only to the first few problems in the section. The problems grow increasingly more difficult as you advance through each section (which is logical), but you will see that the latter problems in each section require knowledge and skills not addressed in the instructions. As an adult, I can explain how to solve the problems my way (some of them I have to think about, admittedly), but it would be nice if the instructions offered examples of how to solve all types of problems featured in the book, not just the easiest of them. The other issue I have is that the methods used for solving most of the problems offered in this book are not the traditional way we learned in school. This would not be a deal breaker for me if, again, the book offered thorough instructions for each section. But it doesn't. The book is amateurish as an instruction tool.
