Can this item be used with the shure super 55 ? Will the xlr lead still plug in the the mic

No, it definitely does not fit. I bought this exact combination, Shure super 55, and this exact gator quick release adapter, and it doesn't fit. The mic lead is too close to the release mechanism, the little black sleeve you pull down, gets well in the way by almost 5mm, its one or the other, you can have either the shure super 55?, 'or' the gator quick release, you can't have both at the same time. I also tried this on my regular 55, same problem.
