C.R. Gibson Black Leather Large Journal Notebook, 7.5" W x 10.25" L, 192 Pages

These are some of my favorite notebooks for journaling, I use them almost every day and have them in an array of colors. The one thing that can be a little annoying is the texture of the leather, but that’s only because I had a velvet one a year before that I preferred. I have not been able to find any velvet ones online or in store. The paper quality is great, no bleeding through in my experience, and it has a great size for lines and larger handwriting like mine. I have multiple of these for different purposes and even gifted one to a friend. Affordable and comfortable! I love love love the page size and function. So many journals aren’t wide enough. This one is a great size.

-Flexible, somewhat sturdy and very sleek in its design. The leather cover provides great texture and feel overall for the journal.-Paper is very absorbent to traditional ball point pens and great for fountain pen use as well.-Personally it gives me a very nostalgic feel, as if everything written inside is a story for someone else to read.

I love notebooks and I’m very picky on the kind I get. This is great for keeping my notes straight at work and it stays open when I’m writing. Paper is heavy so no bleed through. I’ll buy more. If only we could have them not have a dumb saying on the cover and just get a blank cover, I’d buy 100 more.

The first time I purchased this product is when I found it in target went back to get it again. It was not there for a whole year finally I made a decision let’s go to Amazon. Typed the word from the back of this writing tablet. Magic… I was so happy to find this damn coming back to order more. When I suggest anyone buying this, of course I do the paper well put together the lines in between each other well situated for writer like me or anyone I love taking notes, but I believe the next time I do my order I’m gonna order five because I write poetry and I’m always writing something.

About 18 months ago I bought a C.R. Gibson leather journal from a local store, model # MJ14-15573. Loved that journal but it's fully used up and now I want a bigger one, bigger paper size as well as, ideally, higher page count. Now I cannot find that earlier specific model anywhere. I bought THIS one because it's from the same company, same apparent brand and meets my bigger size requirement at least for page size---but not page count, alas. However, the quality isn't quite as good. The leather covers are "flat", where the previous one had a nice "cushiony" feel to the covers, almost like the leather on a nice piece of furniture. There appears to be some kind of padding "inside" the hard covers between the leather and the underlying board.The funny thing is my previous one said just "BONDED LEATHER JOURNAL" on the label. THIS one says "GENUINE BONDED LEATHER", which sure SOUNDS better---but it just is not. (Was the earlier journal not made of GENUINE leather? I have no clue how to tell!)Overall, I give this 4 stars because there is a lot that's good about it, especially the thickness of the paper, which is something that's hard to find anywhere, particularly at this price. I would have gone a full 5 stars if the journal pages laid flat and if the covers were of better quality leather design. That would have been ideal.The old one sits flat wherever you open it. This new one does not and you have to "break the spine" to get it to lie flat. I have to wonder if doing this repeatedly might cause pages to fall out eventually.I do like very much that the paper here is quite thick and won't allow see-thru or most bleed-thru. I own actual moleskin journals which lack those features. This is a NICE feature especially as I still get the same 192-page count as in my previous journal. I really wanted MORE pages than this but you just can't seem to find bigger journals any more.Some of this may sound petty especially to people who don't care what they write on. But I do care, just like most people who spend extra money for moleskin and other high quality journals. That's why I'm being so detailed. I do appreciate the opinions of others with similar tastes in their writing tools as well.The bottom line, for a "real" leather cover journal with truly "thick" pages, I don't think you can beat this price. If you can, let me know where! But I would have gladly paid more to include the features of my previous journal. $20-25 for a real nice 192-page journal is a good investment in one's writing tools.Oh, one final comment. My previous journal said MADE IN CHINA. This one says MADE IN INDIA. Both are the "Markings" trademark from C.R. GIBSON, LLC. it's hard to believe that I'd find something manufactured in China to be of the HIGHER quality, but there ya go.

You can bend it slightly, witch is good.

I have been using Gibson for my for years, I absolutely love it. It’s the best journal I find.The problem here is the seller, I ordered 4 times twice in 2022 and twice in 2024, they sent me smaller ones both the times. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Love this journal. I now have 3 as I’ve been writing for myself (tracking thoughts) and writing to my daughter. It’s been 3 years and I continue to love the size and durability of these journals.
