This book is a great step-by-step instructions manual for anyone interested in straw bale building and its design science. What I appreciate most is the simple language used to help the reader understand. The content is flexible and in-depth enough for both experienced and new builders alike.

If you're going to buy one book about building with strawbale, this should be it. We are approaching finish work on our strawbale home and referred regularly to the book during the design and build process. "How are we going to do the door and window reveals again?"

This is the straw bale construction book you have always wanted.The depth of knowledge and experience in this book is mind blowing.If you ever want to build a straw bale house, you need this book.

I have a copy of the old one, and this blows it away!We will be building soon, and this book will be invaluable!

very comprehensive book, with proper building detailling it is in depth enough to take to an engineer. the book is American i. its approach to measurements and building codes. however the knowledge is vastly transferable. highly recommend over Barbara jones who's books i feel are pretty biased towards straw, they also lack any detailed information to work from really just a coffee table book on straw.

This book has a lot of the nitty-gritty details for best practices on what to do where different planes and materials meet, including windows, doors, ceilings, floors, and a multitude of others. It could be a bit better organized-- it felt like it jumped around a bit-- but it's the best one I've seen so far. I do wish books like this would quit talking about "why to consider straw bale" because at this point, if the reader is looking at the details, he or she has already done that. I'd rather see the pages filled with even more great pictures.
