Could be better, but pleased overall
We have ordered several boxes of small crickets, and have had differing experiences each time. Make sure you order early in the week. They only send products Monday thru Wednesday each week. Each time, the crickets have arrived in a different type of box, which suggests they are refining the container, which is appreciated. Our very first batch arrived with a single large unsecured piece of potato in the box to act as food and water for the crickets. It rolls around acting as a cricket-crushing boulder in the box, so MANY crickets were dead upon arrival. From the time it was shipped until the last cricket was fed was a total of 16 days. We fed our bearded dragon a total of 378 live crickets. Very disappointed. However, it got better. Note that buying just 150 crickets from our local pet store costs more than 1,000 from this supplier via Amazon, so we still came out ahead. Our routine upon delivery is to transfer the crickets and the egg carton pieces from the delivery box to our own container. We add a moist paper towel at one end of our container, and lightly spray it every day. At the other end of the container we put in less than 2 spoonful's of high calcium gut loading cricket food. It's important to keep the food and the water separate as much as possible. If the food gets wet, it starts to smell pretty bad and mold can start growing. Our second box of 1,000 was a much better experience. It arrived with 2 small pieces of potato (still unsecured) which did much less damage in route. From the day it was shipped until the last cricket was fed was a total of 16 days. We fed a total of 1,137 crickets from that box! The crickets actually grew in size over the 16 days. Our 3rd box, we fed 711 crickets. It's obvious that each box does not come with exactly 1,000 crickets, and you must expect that many will die during the shipment and after it's arrival, but we consider the overall experience and the significant savings over purchasing crickets locally to be better than acceptable. We are comfortable recommending this service to others.

Great that you included it
Probably half were dead in the box on arrival and more died within the next 2 days. Maybe 150-200 got into the belly of my toad overall. I'll blame packaging for majority of the dead on arrival. The egg crates provide the home and protection, but as they slide around they kill a number of them. There is also a potato half in there that just flies around. When I pulled it out, there were tons of dead smushed crickets stuck to the potato. Great that you included it, but maybe anchor that thing down so they can eat w/o being killed by the potato's inclusion to the package. Seems like common sense. While I got my shipment on time, I didn't like that shipments are only Mon-Wed.

Good for for bearded dragons!
Bought these for my wife to feed her Bearded Dragons. Didnt hear any complaints - and if she had problems - I would know! Do switch out w/ Superworms, Dubia roaches are good also, but dont feed em regular fishing mealworms or they will plug up and croak. Google what to feed your dragons, they need uvb lights that wear out over time - plus proper greens. Google google google - or be sad because your pet is dying and on some sad day or night you will have to put em down. The size of the insect to the size of the Dragon is important too. Too big of a bug can cause a neurological problem (legs dont work right) because it pinches a nerve. Once again - Google knows!

... to be concerned about and i would have been happy with that
Crickets arrived on time a few died or had been crushed not enough to be concerned about and i would have been happy with that. However I was not happy with the couple hundred ants that came with them and are impossible to get rid of. these are tiny lil ants like sugar ants and are now roaming free in my home. I was home when they were delivered so I know these ants did not come from sitting outside, and they were actually in the box and egg crates.

Definitely Not 1,000 - But All Alive
The crickets arrives and were definitely all alive, but there is no way that there were 1,000 included in the box. I obviously didn't count them, but it seemed to be closer to about 300 based on how quickly our bearded dragon has gone through them. Nobody else has mentioned having this problem, so it might have just been an unfortunate package.

Alive, but are there really 1000?
I'm really not sure if this is sending us 1000 crickets. All of them are alive and healthy when they arrive, but it only lasts about a week and a half before we have to buy more. Our bearded dragon is young and needs 50 crickets a day, so we should get approx. 20 days out of these crickets, not 10.We're trying another cricket seller, but we might be back if that doesn't work out.

Most arrived dead
Only a few were alive when the package arrived. Please offer expedited shipping!! I would have paid for faster shipping to get them sooner like I usually do from other computer.

Perfect!
Only 5 were dead out of the 1000 on arrival. True to size. Great shipping, 2 egg cartons with a small potato. Will definitely buy again!
