It's simply awful.... And all the 5 star reviews are for price, fast shipping, etc. - not book reviews at all
For the most part, it's exactly what you think it's going to be. There's a few tiny sections of useful information about human trafficking, gangs, some other bits, all lost in a morass of stereotypical drivel reminding you not to use racial slurs and not to be a totally insensitive A-hole when dealing with people from other backgrounds. No one that really needs to learn this sort of thing from a book would survive field training at my agency. Oh yeah, and if you're a cop and don't already know not to let the kid that's in trouble translate for you when you talk to his parents, please, just get another job doing something else, because you're too stupid to be the police. Same goes for those of you that need a book to know not to interrupt a female colleague during a work related discussion with something on the level of, "Wow, you must've been workin' out 'cause you look hot in your uniform!" (No-not kidding-actually in the book- as are many more hot tips of equal or lesser value)I suppose this might've been more beneficial 30 years ago, or as basic academy reading, but requiring it as prep for a promotional exam for experienced cops in 2018 is downright insulting. Enjoy the plethora of James Comey quotations. See if you find a couple of racial slurs you've never even heard before (I found 2). Gut it out. Good luck on your exam.If you're a police chief hiring an assessment center group, you might want to screen the required reading. If your promotional candidates really need to read this, they really do not need to be promoted. Demand something better in the center's curriculum or pick a different assessment center.I was baffled by all the 5 star reviews until I read them individually and realized they're from folks that think they're doing eBay feedback.... Price was good, shipped on time, arrived in good condition. Most people who rated the CONTENT OF THE BOOK were not nearly as positive.

Easy read, lots of info
I was required to get this book for a college course. It was formatted in a way that made it pretty easy to read and makes it seem like you're getting through it pretty quickly. It covered a lot of different concepts and situations, within the topic of course. This book seems to be a good tool, whether for a class, a specific assignment, or individual research/growth for personal or professional experience.

Not New
I bought this item "Brand NEW" at the full price as a brand new book and it arrived in poor condition. It wasn't in it's original plastic shrink packaging like new books typically arrive in, the book has damage done to it and the packaging was ripped as well. For the price of this, I could have just ordered from a different place. This should be discounted because its not "NEW". I expect my books to be in pristine condition if I am purchasing it at full price.

RECEIVED OLD COPY
I received an old copy of this text. For the price this is very disheartening and was missing updated information and chapter that we were discussing.
