Provence Sketchbook

Anticipating a visit to Provence, I purchased this art book ( I have a similar one of London, purchased at a bookstore in London, not by the same artist). Although my trip did not come to fruition, I dont' regret buying it. This is an exceptionally inspirational, beautiful book of watercolors with historical information and anecdotes to accompany each drawing of several cities of the French Provence region covering gardens, landscapes and urban sketches. High quality off white heavy paper. The colors are well represented without fading in the process of publication. Dreamy for watercolor enthusiasts.

A terrific bargain, a wonderful watercolor sketch book and a travelogue as well. The watercolors are much more interesting than photographs and the written commentary adds so much to the artwork! Moireau's paintings are some of the finest watercolors I've seen of architectural themes and landscapes. Of course the subjects deserve a lot of credit as well. We visited Provence twenty years ago, I wish I had had this book along. Now I want to return and see a lot that we missed. Excellent book, a keeper.

Beautiful addition to this collection of sketchbook. It is a must have and anyone who loves watercolor prints will love the beautiful scenery of Provence.

If you can't make it to Provence in person..... Beautiful! Inspirational collection of an artists' wanderings. Moireau captures both the majestic and the mundane in ways that tell the whole story. The tidbits of information add an extra special touch. I'm not sure which I prefer -- the architectural pieces or the landscapes. Wonderful!

Love it, great pictures

My friend loves Provence, so this was a perfect gift. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful. The art covers many quaint and charming towns throughout the region. There is information about each of the places. It reads almost like a personal diary.

Very well done, not only great sketches but also well documented and descriptive.I recommend to anyone interested in arts also for people that would like to visit these sites.

This is a very enjoyable narrative about Provence with lovely watercolor paintings. It is to be savored over a long period of time.
