Overall good toy, but slightly over priced
Ball was slightly smaller than expected - it's about the size of a cantaloupe and thought it would be more like a women's basketball, but still a good size for my medium size dog. My dog does enjoy the ball, but it's sporadic - sometimes she pounces once and the ball hits the wall and she is the disinterested. I would says is is more ideal if your dog will mostly use it outdoors, rather than for an apartment pup. Lastly - the ball definitely seems indestructible, but I think the price is not justified by the product and its material.

It's hard plastic, but will last forever
It's hard plastic. I should have read the details. Good thing is it's indestructible and the perfect size for my dog to dribble around. I'd have much preferred a hard rubber ball of the same exact size.

Jr Varsity ball vs Varsity ball
Varsity Ball -- The 110% Guaranteed Indestructible Herding Ball Designed For Human-Free Canine Exercise (Basketball Design) My original purchase was the large "original" Varsity ball which is true to its description. the only issue I have is that my border collie tries to bite the ball and since it is quite heavy and hard I'm afraid she might crack a tooth. Also if the ball is in motion and happens to hit the dog around their bony lower legs that could hurt quite a bit and might deter the dog from future play. I then purchased this Junior Varsity Ball and my dog loves it even more than the original ball. It's easy for my pet to maneuver and large enough so that she can't pick it up. The fact that it's not as heavy as the original ball makes for a more gentle contact with her teeth; she has to use her muzzle and front legs to play with the ball. The ball rolls easily over our grassy yard and if it hits her lower front legs it's not as harsh as the larger ball. I was going to return the larger ball but my dog is still interested in it although the smaller one is usually her first choice. She now has a herding family of balls.

I definately do not recommend..
Out of 5 dogs in the family there was no real interest. Way overpriced. This is a very hard plastic similar to melamine dishes.. I definately do not recommend...

Seems like a high price for what it is
Seems like a high price for what it is. No logo on the product as pictured. Shipping took longer than promised. Puppy hasn't figured it out yet either...

Love that it wears out my dog, hate that she only plays with it in the house.
I have a Border Collie, Australian Shepard mix who LOVES to herd. I bought her this ball hoping that it would help wear her out when playing outside. Unfortunately she does not like it outside but does like to play with it inside until it gets stuck behind a chair or table.

Not for my lab, wheaten or KCS
Good idea, but my dogs aren't interested in playing with the ball. Probably just lazy dogs.
