Does the acrylic sit at an angle if the slot is bigger than the thickness of the acrylic?

Yes it will. The slot is 4mm wide, if you use 4mm acrylic it will fit perfectly, if not a little sanding should do the trick.

Is this cast or extruded acrylic plates? Mine came with Acrylic plates

Unknown. However, you can use a rotary tool or laser on it with proper preparation.

Contrary to what James Brewer wrote, the slot is NOT 5 mm wide. I tried to fit 4.5 mm thick Acrylic and it did not fit.

Says it comes with acrylic. what size? why isn't it shown? why do some buyers say they didn't get it?

It does come with one “globe” size acrylic piece. Size approx 5.5x5 including area that slides into lamp base. I’ve used many of the lamp bases and have been happy with all of them.
